Healthorexia is orthorexia’s overachieving sister.

Healthorexia = the obsession with optimizing everything.
Supplements. Sleep trackers. Cold plunges. Gut tests.
Biohacking becomes a full-time job.
And if you miss a step? Guilt. Fear. Disconnection.

You can be healthy and flexible.
Informed and intuitive.
Disciplined and soft.
Let your body be your guide, not your to-do list.

Health isn’t a checklist.
It’s a relationship—with your body.
And it’s okay if that relationship is still healing.

You know that feeling like your brain is always full?

That’s the invisible mental load. It’s one of the biggest, most overlooked reasons women feel exhausted, anxious, and burnt out.

We’re not just doing the jobs we get paid for.
We’re managing entire households in our heads:
📅 Calendars
🛒 Grocery lists
💬 School forms
💡 Doctor’s appointments
😮‍💨 Emotional support for everyone

All of this. On repeat. It's unrelenting.

And while the world applauds “doing it all,” the truth is, it’s too much. This load doesn’t just impact your mind, it affects your hormones, nervous system, and overall health.

💥 Burnout
💤 Adrenal fatigue
🌡️ Perimenopausal chaos
🧠 Mental exhaustion

We need to talk about this. Normalize sharing the load. Sharing the load means sharing the mental energy to remember the things at all. "Helping" is not helpful. Taking full responsibility for tasks from start to finish, without needing to be asked IS helpful.

Shared responsbility is one crucial step to allow women to make space for rest and recovery.

❤️ You’re not failing.
You’re carrying too much.

📣 I wrote a book chapter!! 🖊️
Well… a chapter in a very special book 😍

I’m incredibly proud to have contributed to Ethics for Acupuncturists, the first ethics textbook created specifically for acupuncturists and Chinese medicine practitioners. 🙌✨

My chapter explores how we can make clear, values-based decisions in clinic—even when faced with the murky grey areas that modern integrative practice can bring.

Whether you’re a new grad or decades in, this book will change the way you think about ethics in our profession. 💡

Congratulations to .medicine and all the contributors on a successful project 👏👏👏

With 3 sickies in my house at the moment nursing snotty noses, sore throats and aching bodies, I want to stay well and healthy. Symptoms of aching neck and scratchy throat started to appear last night, so I took some Yin Qiao Wan pills from my emergency home stash and had an early night. I woke up this morning feeling fine, but not confidently out of the woods yet.

So here I am today taking my own medicine - my formula is a modified Ge Gen Tang. In Chinese medicine terms this formula releases pathogenic influences from the exterior to prevent them going deeper, helps to prevent the accumulation of phlegm, and targets the neck/shoulders and throat.

Ban xia
Huang qin
Ge gen
Gui zhi
Bai shao
Zi su ye
Niu bang zi
Gan cao
Jie geng

Many of these herbs have antiviral and antibacterial properties, antioxidant properties too. The taste is very special. But the effects are very worthwhile.

The best time to treat a cold is before it has started.

Thanks to for taking care of me and formulating this prescription for me ❤️❤️

Most people wait until they feel really bad before they take action… but what if you could catch imbalances early and fix them before they turn into bigger issues?

Or maybe you know you already feel not-quite-right but your blood test results are all “normal”.

🔎 Here’s the truth: Your blood work holds the answers. Even if the results are “normal”. If you’ve been feeling “off” lately—tired, sluggish, struggling with mood swings or brain fog—your body is trying to tell you something.

✅ The good news? A few key blood tests can reveal what’s going on beneath the surface.

📌 Inside my latest article, I break down the essential blood tests you should get BEFORE your first appointment (or anytime you want a full-body check-in).

💡 We cover:
🩸 Full Blood Count – Anemia, infections & immune health
🦠 Thyroid Function & Antibodies – Metabolism, hormones & energy
🔥 Inflammation Markers – Are you dealing with hidden inflammation?
💪 Iron & B12 – The silent causes of fatigue
🔬 Hormone Panels – For men & women (because balance matters!)
And more!

👀 Get ahead of your health now—before symptoms become serious. I’ve put together a simple guide to help you understand exactly which tests to ask for and why they matter.

📌 What Does 150g of Protein in One Day Look Like? 🍽️💪

I am in a caloric deficit phase right now which means 1500 calories is my target each day. But I know the importance of protein, I am constantly talking to my patients about protein, and I know how hard some people find it to even get to 100g protein daily, let alone 150g. (Hint: portion size matters, and eating 3 big protein serves a day gets you there). I am aiming for 150g because I need to support my body to do cool things: building muscle and bone density, hair growth, sleep, and general healing.

Most days I get all my carbs from fruit and veg, but this particular day I felt like having some pasta. Yum. Here’s exactly what I ate on a busy work day to fuel my body, build muscle, and stay on track! 👇

🥣 Breakfast:
Maple syrup, cacao powder, 7g collagen powder, 350ml low-fat milk, 40g protein powder
📊 Macros: 26C | 4F | 55P

🍝 Lunch:
100g Cooked tortellini, pasta sauce, 150g extra lean beef mince with taco spice mix
📊 Macros: 27C | 4F | 42P

🥛 Snack:
Cacao powder, maple syrup, 250ml low-fat milk
📊 Macros: 14C | 1F | 11P

🍗 Dinner:
160g Chicken breast, salad with dressing
📊 Macros: 5C | 14F | 48P

🍏 Dessert:
Apple & a spoonful of ice cream
📊 Macros: 37C | 6F | 2P

⚡ TOTAL: 150g Protein! 💪🔥
(1502 calories: 120C | 40F | 158P)
Balanced, high-protein, and delicious! 😋 Whether you’re bulking, cutting, or just aiming for more protein, this is proof you can hit your goal while enjoying every bite!

✨ Folate & Fertility: What You Need to Know ✨Pregnant or planning a pregnancy? 🤰 Let’s talk about folate—a nutrient that’s absolutely essential for you and your baby. 🌱

Here’s the deal:
🛑 Folic acid = synthetic and may not be the best option for everyone.
✅ Methylfolate and folinic acid are natural forms of folate that your body can use more effectively, especially if you have an MTHFR gene variant.

💡 Did you know?
When you take folic acid as a supplement, unmetabolized folic acid (UMFA) can build up in your bloodstream, it's even present in cord blood in newborn babies! Studies are investigating whether this plays a causative role in disease. Natural folate forms such as folinic acid and methyl folate avoid this issue and support healthy DNA repair, detoxification, and fetal development.

👶 For most women: Methylfolate and folinic acid offer all the fertility and pregnancy benefits you’d expect without the drawbacks.
👩‍⚕️ For women with a history of neural tube defects: Folic acid is still the gold standard for prevention.

Let’s get folate smart! 💪🌿 Learn more in my latest blog post (link in bio).

🎯 Tag a friend who’s TTC or expecting 💕

“One of the greatest things in life is having your support team around you, your family, friends, peers and mentors. And I am so grateful Clare is making herself available to us TCM practitioners to help us be the best versions of ourselves. I know I can’t (and have no desire to try to) do it all on my own – I’d rather have my amazing support crew around me. Of all the time and energy I invest in my career, I believe Clare’s mentoring group is one of the best things I ever decided to do. Thank you!”
Sheena Vaughn, Practitioner - Melbourne.

"Committing to Clare Pyers’ Mentoring Superstars group was the best decision I've made for productivity! You can do all the courses, reading, and dreaming in the world, but having to sit down regularly and be held accountable for these dreams is what really gets things done. I was equally inspired by everyone else's plans, struggles and journey as much as my own particular circumstance, that I always came away from each session with a lot more focus and information to get things done! It's a supportive environment that helps clarify your vision and put a spotlight on issues you might struggle with. I will definitely be doing it again!"
Irene Perkoulidis, Practitioner - Melbourne.
