What do we get from meditation? 🤔
Everyone has different reasons and goals to do meditations.
Some people meditate for decades, but does it change their life? Do they become masters of meditation at some point? 🤨
Meanwhile, some of us try to meditate for 2 hours everyday and some only for 5 minutes because there isn't much time apart from daily activities and responsibilities in life. In either case, we can predict who progresses more in meditation because what matters more is the quality of meditation and not the duration. You could honestly develop enough depth in meditation within a few months to surpass a person with decades of experience.
Perhaps you pursue meditation because it is relaxing.🦦 In that case, you sit down, breathe slowly, listen to soothing music and try to be completely thoughtless. But if you are thinking about “hmm.. what shall I eat for dinner tonight?”🍔🥦 - then it’s not meditation at all. 🙅
Over time you will understand that meditation is more than just relaxation. With practice it can make you balanced in every aspect: less reactive, more attentive to people around you, more resourceful and energized, patient, compassionate and just deeply joyful. 🧘❤️
And when you go even deeper in your meditation, you come to realize that meditation is much more impactful than just bringing balance. Through the thoughtless awareness, you attain true knowledge, you learn how to use your spontaneity to make the right choices and your life changes completely. You won't be attracted to frivolous pleasures like smoking, drinking, mind-numbing drugs or lust. You will realise the real truth in your life. You will know your purpose in life. 🙏😇
