A new home for our Saturday dance...
After 1.5 beautiful years dancing together in the North Warrandyte hall, our Saturday Open Floor sessions will soon move to a new space. The hall has been leased full-time by the preschool, so it’s no longer available for hire.
I’ve felt a mix of nerves and excitement about the change — and after exploring lots of options, I’m now feeling really glad to have found a beautiful new home in Kangaroo Ground, starting from our final dance of the year on December 20.
I know this change will land differently for each of you — the space has held so much of the heart of this community. I searched far and wide (good halls are hard to find!) and feel so happy to have found a welcoming, grounding mud-brick hall surrounded by rolling hills, only a short distance for most. The feedback so far has been really positive.
Our next Saturday dance is this weekend — just three more in Warrandyte before our special end-of-year dance in the new space.

Summer Dance Refuge — final ritual
My next Dance Refuge daylong retreat on November 29 will also be the last one of this particular offering, as I make space for new things to emerge.
It began after the pandemic and has been a deeply soulful space for reflection and renewal. I’d love you to join this final gathering — reach out if you’d like a work-exchange spot.

WORK EXCHANGE OPPORTUNITY

Any artists out there wanting to journey through a transformative series?

Our delightful group member who was going to create art installations (or altars) in my upcoming movement rites series, starting TOMORROW, has had to pull out today due to sickness.
So there's an opportunity for someone who wants to come in as a work exchange to help create the "sacred architecture of the series" (like the images shown).

Maybe you love to create art but haven't shared it much. This series can be a beautiful place to co-create art that supports our critical rituals and dances in a nurturing community. It's a creative, rich and important role in the series.

For those who haven't met me yet, I'm Henry Fowkes – Open Floor teacher, group facilitator, and Gestalt Psychotherapist with a passion for creating spaces where transformation can unfold naturally.

I believe in the paradoxical truth that real change happens when we stop trying so hard to change and instead inhabit what is truly here.

In this 9th Movement Rites series, we'll explore how embracing exactly where we are opens doorways to who we're becoming.
