Last week's childcare incident has shaken us all. At Relationship Matters, we are shocked by the magnitude of its impact — on children, parents, extended families, the early childhood workforce, and the broader community.

As an organisation that has been working alongside children and families for more than 78 years, we understand how deeply distressing this is — and we are here for you.
Our counselling programs, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), debriefing services, and family support services are here to help navigate the emotional toll of this moment.

Feel free to reach out to us if you or someone you know needs support.

NAIDOC Week 2025 — Celebrating Strength, Vision & Legacy

This year marks 50 years of NAIDOC, and we’re proud to honour the strength, leadership, and legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples — past, present, and emerging.

The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation – Strength, Vision & Legacy”, shines a light on young Indigenous leaders who carry forward a rich cultural heritage, and reminds us of the wisdom of Elders and the power of community.

At Relationship Matters, we are committed to supporting respectful relationships and inclusive communities. NAIDOC Week is a time for us to listen, reflect, and walk in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We encourage everyone to take time this week to engage with stories, events, and conversations that celebrate First Nations cultures and help shape a more just future for all.

🌿 National Reconciliation Week 2025 🌿 Bridging Now to Next

From 27 May to 3 June, we reflect on pivotal moments in Australia’s reconciliation journey:
• The 1967 Referendum, where nearly 91% of Australians voted to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as equal citizens.
• The 1992 Mabo Decision, which overturned terra nullius and legally acknowledged Indigenous land rights.

This year’s theme, Bridging Now to Next, invites us all to step forward together, learning from the past and building a united future — inspired by resilience and renewal.

Before NRW, we observe National Sorry Day on 26 May, a day to remember the Stolen Generations and recommit to healing.

How to get involved:
• Join NRW events near you — from weaving workshops to concerts and exhibitions
• Start meaningful conversations in your workplace or community
• Share your stories and support First Nations peoples on this journey
• Visit reconciliation.org.au for resources and information

Together, let’s build a more inclusive, just Australia — Now More Than Ever.

Today is National Sorry Day.

It’s a day for reflection, learning, and listening—as individuals, and as a nation. By acknowledging past wrongs and committing to better relationships, we take small but meaningful steps toward reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At Relationship Matters, we believe all strong relationships—whether personal, community, or cultural—are built on respect, truth, and understanding.

Let’s honour today by walking gently, speaking kindly, and listening openly. Because relationships really do matter.
