Supported Employment is a key area of our business...

We help individuals with disability to find and enjoy meaningful work in Melbourne and around Victoria.

Whether this means being part of one of our Op Shops, enjoying working outside or washing police and other first responder vehicles, we ensure a sense of fulfilment and purpose.

Friendship is also a big element, with participants getting to know their peers, support workers and employers.

One reason is because we understand the role TRUST plays in our work as a provider of Disability Day Programs, Respite and Supported Employment.

The core of our service is supporting people with disability, many of whom are not able to advocate for themselves.

Our process is thorough and supportive, whether our clients need help with meals and personal care or someone by their side as they learn new skills and build independence.

Everyone’s goals are different, and our support workers are committed to helping achieve them. Communication with an individuals entire support network and family, allows us to help create positive outcomes.

We are proud to say that many of our team members have relationships with our clients that span several years, and we have witnessed many times over the incredible difference this makes to their progress and wellbeing.

Instead of setting strict agendas for our Disability Day Programs, we shape our activities and outings around the group and each individual's preferences.

No idea is off the table... and we have a lot of fun planning our schedule!

There’s no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to Disability Day Programs at C2A.

👉 Our clients may meet with a support worker on a one-to-one basis, or they could be supported in a group.

👉 They may visit one of our facilities three days per week or participate in a group outing once per week.

👉 As for activities, they vary as well, and are reflective of our clients’ interests and goals.

From swimming to basketball to theatre performances and essential life skills, C2A is dedicated to Connecting 2 Ability.

Since 1953…

Connecting2Ability is one of Victoria’s oldest providers of support for people living with disability.

We started as the Peninsula Children’s Welfare Association, before becoming Woorinyan a few years later.

In 2018, we made the change to become Connecting2Australia, and this became Connecting2Ability in 2024 to better reflect our mission.

There has been so much growth over the years and we now operate in Melbourne and across the state, with locations in Frankston, Wonthaggi, Mildura, Seaford, Thomastown, Traralgon, Bellfield, Bendigo and the Mornington Peninsula.

Our services go beyond Day Programs to include Supported Employment, Respite & Short Term Accommodation as well as our network of popular Op Shops.
