aesthetic awareness, core body stability, proprioception, balance, focus and concentration – all whilst they are having fun! Sensory Matters is a branch off from Cloth for Comfort and focuses on products which can be of benefit to children and adults with special needs – a great resource for therapists, carers, parents and teachers. New products are regularly added – like us on Facebook or sign up to our newsletter on www.sensorymatters.com.au to see the latest updates! As Sensory Matters is a second business and I am a Work At Home Mum, raising 3 young children, my page and website will take a little while to complete. Please bear with me while I set it all up - if you have any troubles with orders or have any questions, please send me an email to julie@sensorymatters.com.au. I have a stall at the handmade Flemington Craft Market every month, and while I usually have all my products there, if you are wanting to see/buy anything specifically please contact me before the day to make sure I have it in stock and with me on the day :)

We have had the absolute delight of hosting the hard working Abby from Norwood Secondary College for her Work Experience this week. She has been able to participate in many aspects of our daily lives here in our warehouse and office such as packing orders, packaging products, re-socking products on the shelves, social media, learning about the behind the scenes of running a business and all the steps that are taken from receiving orders to dispatching them and the not so exciting task of helping us with our Stocktake today. Jane was especially excited as both Abby and herself are Swifties ;)

PD: Jane, adult with dark hair stands side on to Abby, teenager with blonde hair. They are standing side on to the camera, facing a packing bench with sunlight coming through the blinds. Abby is wearing a Taylor Swift, The Tortured Poet's Department grey coloured cardigan. On the packing bench there are multiple soft toys in plastic zip lock bags and Jane and Abby are packaging up the animals for an order. Both are smiling (obviously smiling with delight that boss lady, Julie is taking a photo of them doing this!).

Our Story

Julie Baker has taken a break as an Occupational Therapist to raise her 3 beautiful children (who are also Autistic). Since becoming a mum she has developed a love for sewing and making things for her children and others. With an O.T. background, most items she made tended to be designed to provide activities to increase fine and gross motor skills, kinaesthetic awareness, core body stability, proprioception, balance, focus and concentration – all whilst they are having fun! Sensory Matters has been focusing on further developing these and other new products over the past 10 years, which can be particularly of benefit to children and adults with special needs – a great resource for therapists, carers, parents and teachers. New products are regularly added – like us on Facebook or sign up to our newsletter on www.sensorymatters.com.au to see the latest updates! If you have any troubles with orders or have any questions, please send an email to julie@sensorymatters.com.au.
