While there is no one-size-fits-all diet, there is one diet that stands out as beneficial for the majority of us. It also includes a bit of wine 🙊

Thinkstock I commonly get asked ‘What do you think about this new diet?’ Paleo, keto, intermittent fasting and vegan are the most popular diet trends at the moment. I love the research …

Tired? Nauseas? Headache? Sore from the gym? Here are my top teas for the most common ailments as well as the brands I use. Enjoy!

I love a good cup of tea – I have a section in the pantry dedicated to it! It’s not only a nice ritual to start and end the day with but, because most teas are actually herbs, they have…

Celery juice is the latest craze to sweep the nation. Can it really cure migraines, autoimmune diseases and solve all of your digestive woes? Maybe not. But, it can do some other pretty cool stuff. Read more to find out.

The humble celery. Known particularly for its cameo role with hummus as a snack food for dieters everywhere. It seems like celery, shed some of it’s own weight (in fibre) got a publicist and …

On a student budget but struggling with what to eat? Make $20 stretch for the week! This meal is just $2.80 per serve. Mix a spotty banana with one egg and cook spoonfuls on a non-stick fry pan like you would regular pancakes. Serve with strawberries, plain yoghurt and sunflower seeds.

It’s worth noting that all these ingredients are on special at coles and Woolworths and it pays to do the math and search online catalogues before you buy food. Look out for those chuck out tables at the end of day and you might find some cheap spotty bananas like I did 😊

Sunflower seeds were $1.20 a pack, eggs were $3.80 for 12, the yoghurt was Jalna’s biodynamic plain yoghurt 500g for $3 and the strawberries were $2.80 a punnet. The great thing about these ingredients is that they’re so versatile! Eggs can be cooked up in an omelette, bananas can be used in smoothies and snacks, sunflower seeds are great salad toppers and can boost the protein content of any meal (plus they’ve got the added bonus of making you feel fuller for longer) and strawberries can be added to breakfast or eat with yoghurt for a dessert! All of it came to $12.80 so find some fruit and veg on special and maybe a bag of rice and make that last dollar $tretch!

I know $20 is difficult to live on so utilise all sources! Chip in with mates to buy food in bulk and split the cost, be active in community veggie gardens and hey, maybe visit mum and offer to cook if she can provide the ingredients for a feed. It all adds up!

I hope this helps my fellow students. Looking forward to starting something new at this year.

Tired and don't know what to do? Poor food choices, lack of sleep and not enough exercise (or too much exercise!) are a few of the many factors contributing to excessive fatigue. Where do we start? I've chosen five of my favourite energy boosting foods and explain why you should be eating them.

Hands up who is tired? Our modern lifestyle requires us to be switched on 24/7. Late nights, long days at the office, excessive exercise, too much alcohol – the list goes on. Nothing can repl…
