Important Update for Employers Visa Applicants
From 1 July 2025, the Australian Government will increase skilled visa income thresholds by 4.6%, in line with annual wage indexation (AWOTE).
If you're planning to lodge a subclass 482, 186, or 494 nomination, here’s what you need to know:
🔹 Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT):
Increasing from $73,150 → $76,515
(Affects 482 & 186 Core Skills stream)
🔹 Specialist Skills Income Threshold (SSIT):
Increasing from $135,000 → $141,210
(Affects 482 Specialist Skills stream)
🔹 Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT):
Increasing from $73,150 → $76,515
(Affects 494 & 187 RSMS—pending legislative approval)
👉 All new nominations from 1 July 2025 must meet the new threshold or market salary, whichever is higher.
These changes won’t apply to existing visa holders or nominations lodged before 1 July 2025.
Not sure how this affects your application?
That’s where I come in. As a former DOHA case officer, I know exactly what the Department looks for in skilled visa nominations. Let’s make sure you’re on the right track.
