Moreland West Medical Centre is available to support all of our patients during these difficult times.
We are aware that the Omicron variant of Covid-19 infection is rampant in the community and we wish to reassure our patients that we are here to help you.
We encourage any patient with the following health conditions should contact the clinic for an urgent appointment upon testing posititve for Covid-19 infection either via PCR or RAT.
This includes those who:
are unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated
are aged ≥65 years
are pregnant
have comorbidities, including
lung disease, such as COPD, asthma or bronchiectasis
cardiovascular diseases, such as hypertension
obesity (body mass index >30 kg/m2)
immunocompromising conditions
have chronic kidney disease
have diabetes (type 1 or 2)
have liver disease
have significant neurological disorders, such as stroke or dementia
suffer from some chronic inflammatory conditions and therapies
have significant frailty or disability
have severe mental health conditions.
Most of our immunised patients will experience mild disease and require minimal assistance. We encourage you to treat the illness symptomatically and advise reception if you feel you need a telephone appointment with a doctor. If you experience worsening or severe symptoms, eg shortness of breath, extreme weakness and dizziness or blue fingers/lips call '000' immediately and advise that you have Covid-19 and your severe symptoms.
