Moreland West Medical Centre is available to support all of our patients during these difficult times.
We are aware that the Omicron variant of Covid-19 infection is rampant in the community and we wish to reassure our patients that we are here to help you.

We encourage any patient with the following health conditions should contact the clinic for an urgent appointment upon testing posititve for Covid-19 infection either via PCR or RAT.

This includes those who:

are unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated
are aged ≥65 years
are pregnant
have comorbidities, including
lung disease, such as COPD, asthma or bronchiectasis
cardiovascular diseases, such as hypertension
obesity (body mass index >30 kg/m2)
immunocompromising conditions
have chronic kidney disease
have diabetes (type 1 or 2)
have liver disease
have significant neurological disorders, such as stroke or dementia
suffer from some chronic inflammatory conditions and therapies
have significant frailty or disability
have severe mental health conditions.

Most of our immunised patients will experience mild disease and require minimal assistance. We encourage you to treat the illness symptomatically and advise reception if you feel you need a telephone appointment with a doctor. If you experience worsening or severe symptoms, eg shortness of breath, extreme weakness and dizziness or blue fingers/lips call '000' immediately and advise that you have Covid-19 and your severe symptoms.

Our practice will be closed today and will reopen tomorrow Saturday 24th July 2021 at 9.00 am.

Moreland West Medical Centre welcomes Dr Robin Wong to our highly skilled General Practitioner team.

Dr Wong commenced consulting with us on Wednesday 3rd December 2020. Appointments can be made by clicking the BOOK NOW button on this page.

Robin is originally from the UK and has been an Australian resident since 2013. He trained at Kings College London and spent several years working in excellent specialty and regional hospitals, including Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge, and Papworth cardio-thoracic hospital. Robin obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians, and later undertook GP training in Oxford where he also worked as a GP endoscopist for six years. He moved to Bristol before relocating to his favourite City, Melbourne!

Robin enjoys the broad range of medicine that general practice offers. He likes managing patients with cardiac, respiratory, gastroenterological issues as well as diabetes, mental health, paediatrics and men’s health. He performs joint injections, and is a PrEP prescriber. Robin is particularly keen on a healthy holistic approach, and resorts to medications only when needed. When not at work he spends far too much time rock climbing, a passion he shares with his three teenage children.

Moreland West Medical Centre welcomes Dr Heidi Zoumboulakis to our team of highly skilled General Practitioners.

Dr Zoumboulakis will commence consulting from Monday 30th November 2020. Appointments can be made by clicking the BOOK NOW button on this page.

Dr Heidi Zoumboulakis graduated from Monash University in 2013 after studying Biomedical Science and working as a secondary school teacher. She enjoys all aspects of general practice with a particular interest in women’s health, sexual health and minor procedures. Heidi is a section 100 HIV prescriber. She enjoys supporting her patients throughout all stages of their lives and involving her patients in the decision making around their health care.

When not at work, Heidi enjoys travelling, exploring the ever growing cafe scene in Brunswick and spending time with family and friends.

**PRACTICE FEE UPDATE**
The Government is changing the rules about billing for consultations delivered by telephone and video link. The mandated requirement for bulk-billing has been removed in most instances, so your consultations may from now on attract a fee.

From Thursday 1st October 2020, consultations delivered by telephone and video link will no longer be routinely bulk-billed, except for AGE and DSP concession-card holders.

As with face-to-face consultations, telehealth will be billed as a private fee, which attracts a Medicare rebate.

Children under-16 and holders of other Commonwealth Concession cards will be offered a discounted fee.

To keep everyone safe during this COVID-19 emergency, telehealth will remain the principal way in which we provide care to our patients.

Please ensure that our Reception staff know if you have a Commonwealth Concession card, so that your consultation can be billed appropriately.
