Are you familiar with the fact that in Germany and across the European Union, all horse wormers need a veterinary prescription? This regulation, which has been in effect since 2022, seeks to address the growing concern of parasite resistance to the limited classes of available worming drugs. This is the reason we need to do Faecal Egg Counts. Given that we are not far off from this becoming a requirement here, it is essential to get those 💩 samples to me so that we can formulate a plan.

Worming 101: get faecal egg counts done every quarter. (Every 3 months) We only bust out the worming meds when counts exceed 500 strongyle eggs per gram (except for that one annual worming) Get your counts done with me - drop off at Peninsula Park and I’ll advise you 😊🐛🪱🐴

Well I guess I have incoming 💩🫣🤣

Autumn is well and truly here with beautiful days and freezing cold nights 🥶 There are still Bot flies around so please hold off another few weeks on worming. I recommend using a paste with Moxidecton in it (look at ingredients, not brand!)
Perfect timing to get those pre worming Feacal Egg Counts done now 😊
