It’s Movember - a time to grow, talk, and take action for men’s health.

In Australia, prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men, and testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men aged 20–39. Behind these numbers are fathers, sons, brothers, and friends - and early detection can truly make a life-changing difference.

Our urology specialists are dedicated to providing compassionate, expert care in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate and testicular cancers, supporting every patient with understanding, respect, and access to the highest standard of treatment options.

This Movember, take a moment to prioritise your health: book a check-up, start a conversation and encourage the men in your life to do the same.

This month is International Pain Awareness Month.

Chronic pain is often invisible, but its impact is very real. For so many people, living with daily pain means navigating life with strength, patience, and resilience that often goes unnoticed.

At our hospitals we see this strength every day, and we’re here to walk alongside our patients, not just with treatment plans, but with compassion, understanding, and hope.

Whether it’s helping someone regain mobility, manage complex conditions, or simply feel heard, our teams are dedicated to supporting people through some of their toughest challenges.

“Pain affects more than just the body, it can impact a person’s identity, relationships, and mental wellbeing. Supporting someone through chronic pain means listening deeply, treating holistically, and helping them reclaim parts of life they may have lost,” says Matthew Knight, General Manager at The Victorian Rehabilitation Centre and Dorset Rehabilitation Centre.

To everyone living with chronic pain - we see you, and we’re with you.

🦾 Gold Coast Private Welcomes Queensland’s First State-of-the-Art Mako 4 Robot 🦾

Gold Coast Private Hospital is proud to be the first hospital in Queensland – and one of the first in Australia – to acquire the latest-generation Mako 4 robot for robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement surgery.

This means more Gold Coast locals can access world-class surgical care closer to home, with faster recovery times and improved outcomes.

GCPH has been a leader in robotic orthopaedic surgery since 2016, performing over 3,000 robotic hip and knee procedures with its first Mako robot.

The Mako 4 brings even greater surgical precision and advanced capabilities, including support for revision hip replacements and future spine procedures.

What’s new with Mako 4?
✅ Enhanced visibility during surgery
✅ Smarter tech for more personalised and accurate procedures
✅ Smaller and more flexible design that fits better in operating rooms
✅ Can handle more complex surgeries, improving outcomes for patients with challenging conditions

This milestone marks an exciting new chapter in the hospital's commitment to cutting-edge surgical innovation, patient care, and clinical excellence.

With two Mako robots now in operation, GCPH is strengthening its position as a Queensland leader in robotic orthopaedics!

It’s a time to pause and celebrate the strength, resilience, and wellbeing of women everywhere. At Healthscope, we’re deeply proud to care for women through every chapter of their lives, with kindness, respect, and expertise.

Having performed robotic surgeries at a number of other private and public hospitals, I’m genuinely amazed by the robotic surgical team here. Even though the program has only just begun, they are already working at such a high level. It’s inspiring to be part of this journey and I look forward to working together to offer the best possible care for our patients,” said Dr Chen.

We’re so proud to have this talented wife-and-husband duo caring for our patients at Mount Private!
