MiLife - Victoria started as Peninsula Access Support and Training (P.A.S.T.) in 1992 supporting 14 young people with intellectual disabilities. By 1997 we purchased a site in Langwarrin and had grown to providing services to 35 people. In addition to day services we were also offering help with transport, an overnight stay program was developed, and we also became registered to offer Adult Commun
ity & Further Education (ACFE) programs. Our numbers kept growing and by 1998 we had 49 people using our services, with a new site opened in Cranbourne. We were also running education programs in local Community Centres in Carrum Downs, Langwarrin, Cranbourne, and Merinda Park. We continued to expand our services and in 2002 our Hastings site opened and a new site in Langwarrin added. By 2004 we had transitioned from being a ‘service provider’ to ‘providing support’. We started offering in-home support for people with progressive neurological disorders. We also started to offer respite services through tailored holidays. We maintain our quality accreditation under the Disability Service Standards, and have an ongoing commitment to invest in continuous quality improvement. rebranded and is now known as MiLife - Victoria. While all of our services remain the same, we are preparing to ensure we are flexible with the changes that the NDIS will bring to people with disabilities. Today sees us supporting over 360 individuals and their families across the organisation. MiLife - Victoria will continue to provide services to people with a range of disabilities and are proud of the difference that we continue to make in their lives.
