We’re thrilled to celebrate the PEPA | IPEPA Victoria team (funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aging) for their incredible achievement in winning the St Vincent’s People Award – Transform the System: Community Impact category!

This recognition highlights the team’s outstanding work in improving palliative care education and support across Victoria — making a real difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities.

A big thanks to the team at PEPA|IPEPA National and QUT for their ongoing support, encouragement and leadership.

Congratulations to our PEPA/IPEPA Victoria team who have been named as finalists for the Transform the System – Community Impact award at the 2025 St Vincent’s Australia People Awards. We can’t wait to hear how they go at the awards ceremony on the 29th of October, but with more than 800 nominations submitted this year, being selected as finalists is already an outstanding accomplishment! Go team Vic!

Day 4 | Shepparton → Strathbogie (Nagambie) → back to Melbourne

First stop a visit to GV Hospice and the opportunity to finally see their new fabulous facility, then catching up with the GV Health Palliative Care Consult team and the final stop in Shepparton dropping by the AHLOs at GV Health and Aunt Cynthia. Then on to Nagambie and our fabulous AV PCSC- Strathbogie region colleague Nouriel.

After over 800 kms and catching up with some fabulous teams, back to Melbourne and normal office work!

☀️ Day 3 | Bendigo Region
Woke up on beautiful lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung and the Taungurung Peoples.

Coffee - tick
Morning walk - tick

Impromptu catchup with the wonderful Bendigo Health Aboriginal Support Team – thanks for making time for us 😊

Then to Bendigo Health Palliative care team and the opportunity to share some great feedback from recent PEPA|IPEPA placement participants with the team.

Now off to Shepparton for the night.

🌾 Day 2 | Swan Hill → Echuca → Bendigo

Departed Wemba Wemba Swan Hill this morning, enroute to Yorta Yota country...via a quick stop at the beautiful Silo art at Lake Boga, where we met Echuca Regional Health Community Palliative Care Team and then spent the afternoon with the Uncle Gilbert the Echuca Regional Health Emotional Wellbeing Officer.

After reconnecting and engaging with community in Echuca, Imogen and Kerrie spent some time by the Murray River reflecting on how beautiful it is to be able to travel around Victoria and see the beautiful countries and the wonderful health professionals we are lucky enough to work with.

Now travelling down the Northern Highway to Bendigo.

Day 1 | PEPA|IPEPA Regional Roadshow - Mildura-Ouyen- Swan Hill……….🚗

First stop- Sunraysia Community Health Service Palliative Care Team, so good to finally catch up with the team here in Mildura. Always so nice to see people face to face after lots of online conversations.

Then onto Ouyen were we finally get the chance to meet our Ambulance Victoria colleague Jacob PCSC for the “Mallee Track”/Mildura region.

Last stop for day one - SWAN HILL!!! Imogen reconnected to Swan Hill District Health Aboriginal Liaison Team. While Kerrie caught up with Swan Hill Health Palliative Care Community Service team members and Holly from AV PCSC Swan Hill region.

It was a pleasure to finally meet and reconnect with everyone, we acknowledge the dedication and hard work you all do in the Palliative Care space, and we thank you for your ongoing commitment to PEPA|IPEPA Victoria.

The PEPA/IPEPA Victoria team recently attended the 2025 Oceanic Palliative Care Conference in Brisbane. Over three inspiring days, we engaged with a wide range of insightful presentations, reconnected with long-time colleagues and friends, and built new friendships with professionals from across Oceania.
The conference was a powerful reminder of the rich diversity, expertise, and dedication within our palliative care community. It also reinforced the importance of supporting our colleagues who have trained overseas, recognising the valuable perspectives and experiences they bring to our field.

Exciting Changes to Our Community of Practice
Following extensive consultation, we are thrilled to announce some exciting updates to our Community of Practice.
In the spirit of inclusiveness and collaboration, we’re opening our meetings to a broader audience and warmly invite everyone to join our PEPA|IPEPA Special Interest Group.
These quarterly online gatherings will offer dynamic discussions on a wide range of palliative topics, feature special guest speakers, and provide a welcoming space for health care professionals to connect, learn, and share insights across PEPA|IPEPA networks.
We look forward to growing this vibrant community with you.
Our first meeting will be held in January 2026, keep an eye on our website for details
