Dr Michael Wu is a Vascular, Endovascular, and Transplant surgeon. He has a subspecialty interest in dialysis access surgery and renal transplantation.

We are very pleased to welcome Dr Mai Nguyen, General Practitioner to our clinic!

Dr Mai Nguyen completed Bachelor of Science and Graduate Diploma in Clinical Audiology and Master of Clinical Audiology and Graduate Diploma of Surgical Anatomy at the University of Melbourne. She completed Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery at Griffith University, Gold Coast. She also completed the Adelaide to Outback GP Training Program and is an accredited Fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). She is an accredited APHRA Specialist General Practitioner.

Mai has worked in several medical centres and hospitals across Australia since 2009. Mai provide health and emergency services to rural communities, hospitals and medical centres.

Dr Mai Nguyen has extensive experience in all areas of general practice. Mai is a devoted mother of 2 children. She has special interest in Chronic Disease Management, Mental Health, Children’s Health, Women’s Health, and Refugee and Indigenous Health.

We would like to welcome and introduce our new Podiatrist Laurie Bui to the clinic!

Laurie is a podiatrist graduated from La Trobe University with a Master of Podiatric Practice in 2018.

He has spent the last 6 years working in private practice where he has specialised in foot pain, ingrown toenails, diabetes foot management and paediatric.

Laurie is a registered Podiatrist with the Australian Health Practitioners Agency. Growing up with a keen fascination with the foot, he is interested in every aspect of podiatry, from heel pain, footwear, orthotic prescription and everything in between!

We would like to welcome our new Geriatrician Dr Jo Ann Chow to the Specialist team!

Dr Chow graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006 and completed advanced training in geriatric medicine at Monash Health. She also has further training in the areas of general medicine and oncology at Eastern Health and Cabrini. She became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2019 and holds a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Care Medicine.

Jo Ann’s areas of interest and expertise include comprehensive geriatric assessments for cognitive assessment, falls, frailty and other geriatric issues and peri-operative care and work up.

Dr Chow has admitting privileges at Mulgrave Private Hospital for direct acute medical admissions, geriatric and perioperative referrals. She will be consulting from our Maribyrnong clinic on Tuesday mornings.

After an extremely challenging year, we are so grateful to be able to celebrate together again!

Our wonderful team of admin staff Quinn, Tammy, Carly, Tehya, Amy and Kimmy have been at frontline of our clinic all year, ensuring that all patients are provided with ongoing care either in person or remotely via telehealth with our team of Doctors and Allied Health Specialists.

We will be taking a short break over Christmas and look forward to delivering greater services and welcoming new Specialists to our clinic in 2022!

As Melbourne emerges from our latest lockdown and our Specialists return to doing more face to face consultations over the coming weeks, we would like to encourage all those who have yet to get vaccinated, to do so as soon as possible!!

Welcome to the team Juli!

We are so pleased to welcome Dr Juli Jaw to our team of Nephrologists at Westside Renal Services!

Juli obtained her medical degree from The University of Melbourne in 2006 and completed her Nephrology training at Launceston General Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre. She was awarded a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physician (FRACP) in 2016. She recently completed her PhD research in the field of autoimmune kidney disease with a special interest in ANCA (Anti Neutrophils Cytoplasmic Antibodies) Associated Vasculitis (AAV).

Dr Juli Jaw has public hospital appointments at Monash Health and Latrobe Regional Hospital. She is also accredited at Cabrini Hospital and B. Braun Renal Care Centre. She consults in various areas of Nephrology including hypertension, kidney stones, diabetic nephropathy, chronic kidney disease, dialysis, transplantation and autoimmune kidney disease.

In addition to English, Juli speaks fluent conversational Indonesian, Mandarin and Hokkien
