Eastern Health has a number of social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. The aim of these channels is to build positive relationships with our local communities and share Eastern Health news and updates.
By using our social media channels, you will be deemed to have agreed to comply with:
· Third-party provider terms and conditions (even if you access a social media channel from an Eastern Health website); and
· these Guidelines.
When submitting content on our social media, we ask that you demonstrate courtesy, kindness and respect for all members of our social media communities.
You must not post or repost any inappropriate content on an Eastern Health social media channel, including content that:
· advertises or endorses any products or services of any other organisation without express written authority from Eastern Health;
· personally identifies any other person without their express consent (including Eastern Health consumers and employees);
· is defamatory, offensive, abusive, threatening or contains any sexually explicit or violent material or illegal activity;
· contains any abhorrent violent material (as that term is defined in the Criminal Code Amendment (Sharing of Abhorrent Violent Material) Act 2019) including audio, visual or audio-visual material that records or streams abhorrent violent conduct including a terrorist act, murder, attempted murder, torture, r**e or kidnapping;
· promotes discrimination of a person or group based on background or personal characteristics; or
· infringes any intellectual property rights including copyright.
Breach of Guidelines:
Eastern Health will not tolerate a breach of these Guidelines.
In the event that Eastern Health considers that posted content breaches these Guidelines or any third party terms and conditions, it may, in its absolute discretion, delete such content.
You should also be aware that Eastern Health may also be legally obliged or entitled to report any non-complying content to law enforcement authorities.
Eastern Health employees must ensure that they follow all relevant Eastern Health policies in relation to submitting social media content.
Social Media Monitoring:
Please be aware that our social media channels are monitored between 9.00 am – 5.00 pm Monday to Friday (not including public holidays) by the Eastern Health Communications team.
If you become aware of any content that you consider inappropriate or offensive at any time, we encourage you to report such content to the third party provider e.g. Facebook.
