Healing is the moment you realise so much of who you thought you were was actually who you had to be to feel safe.

The overthinking.
The people-pleasing.
The performing.
The shrinking.
The independence.
The perfectionism.

Not flaws. Not “just your personality.”
But intelligent, adaptive survival strategies.

Studies suggest that it can take up to 6-8 weeks on average for a dominant thought to become matter. Of course it can occur sooner depending on how consistently & strongly you hold the positive beliefs around your desire. If you’ve yet to experience your thoughts becoming things you could set yourself a fun challenge to be in the energy of knowing it is coming, do this for 6-8 weeks and see what happens! Note: The key word here is DOMINANT thoughts, this doesn’t mean that every thought & feeling needs to be positive, that’s impossible & unhealthy to not allow for all emotions. We all do it from time to time, but why? And what effect does chronic judgment have on you? - Read on! ⬇️

When you continually judge others it not only lowers your vibration & produces tension in the body it also diminishes your personal power.

Judging others is more detrimental to you than anybody else. Judgement & gossip will hold you back from higher levels of joy & success in your own life.

So why do we judge? The old saying of “when you point a finger at another, look at the 3 fingers pointing back at yourself” is a true statement. When you judge another it’s because of something you feel about yourself that you likely wouldn’t want to admit to another and it usually has something to do with not feeling enough, this is known as a shadow.

This inner part of you is looking for acceptance, validation & safety.

The next time you find yourself judging or gossiping, ask yourself:

“What’s the real reason I’m bothered by this person?”

“What am I making this mean for or about me?”

“Is the thing I am judging them for something I also do/want/have?”

“If I was to see this person through the eyes of love what would I see other than perceived flaws?”

“How would my life/energy be different if I only had neutral thoughts about this person?”

Less judgement equals more personal power. More personal power equals a better quality of life for you.

When you’ve taken all the actions, exhausted your logic mind and nothing seems to be moving, rest is the answer.

Rest is how the body makes sense of things. When you take a break from all of the thinking that’s when you create space for solutions.

Rest is productive yet many of us find it almost impossible to rest.

📲If you’re resting whilst scrolling that’s not rest.

💻If you’re resting whilst doing tasks that’s not rest.

🛌 If you’re resting but your mind is thinking a million thoughts that’s not rest.

Resting is not only allowing slowness for the body but also letting the mind disconnect.

Rest can be found in presence. When you bring your focus back to right now you’ll find there’s a lot less to do because you’re not thinking in the future or the past.

If you’ve been chronically busy for a while then creating habits of rest may take some practice. Here’s some examples to hit the reset button:

🐾 If you have a pet, sit with them & give them your full presence. Studies show that patting your pet can significantly reduce stress & overthinking.

☕️ Sip your tea slowly & do nothing else. Engage your senses in the present moment by noticing the taste, texture & temperature.

🎨⚒️ Create something with your hands & get lost in the process of creating.

☀️🌳 Get out in nature & set the intention to leave your to-do list & worries behind for an hour or 2.

😮‍💨 Deep breathing & meditation are a fast track method to rest & restore.

Humans are a bit like house plants, when our basic daily needs are met we begin to bloom & thrive. 🌱

The trouble is that society has got us thinking that there’s no time for joy, self-care & indulging in the things that make your heart sing. But these are the exact things that increase productivity & wellbeing!

When you nourish yourself & allow yourself to enjoy the things on a regular basis your energy increases, opportunities begin to flow and life just feels smoother & easier - and who wouldn’t want more of that?! 😍

What small, daily rituals can you gift yourself?
Note down 1-3 achievable steps that you can begin to incorporate either into your day or somewhere into your week.
Baby steps are better than no steps 🫶🏼
