Backstage on Sunday, 7 December 2025, just before stepping onto the stage for Newcastle Dance Academy’s End of Year Annual Performance at the Civic Theatre. 🎭✨
Such a fun and unforgettable experience!

I wore a stunning piece from Creative Wigs’ Marie Antoinette range in Melbourne. On this occasion, my wig was fitted by George from East Maitland Salon — a true professional who has worked on iconic films like The Great Gatsby, Moulin Rouge, Star Wars, Australia, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and so many more. 🎬💫

I’m only an amateur dancer and mainly perform once a year with Newcastle Dance Academy. I also compete in Ballroom, though I haven’t worn a wig for those performances yet. Dancing brings me so much joy, and I hope to continue for many years to come. 💙

I’m not posting actively on Instagram at the moment, but I do love watching reels and following Creative Wigs online for inspiration.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our founder, Mr. Lourie; the heart and history of Creative Wigs.

Mr. Lourie established our business in 1957, with the simple but powerful belief that everyone deserves to feel confident, seen, and celebrated.

He saw beauty in individuality, possibility in community, and magic in welcoming everyone who walked through our doors.

Mr Lourie's greatest joy was talking to anyone and everyone who visited — sharing stories, laughter, and the unmistakable warmth that makes our space feel like home.

His spirit lives on in every corner of our business, in every person who has become part of the Creative Wigs family over the years, and in the legacy he so lovingly built. A remarkable man, a true original, an icon, and a presence we will forever miss.

Thank you for everything, Mr Lourie.
