Did you know that women are less likely to receive bystander CPR and defibrillation than men?
On International Women’s Day, it’s important to talk about why.
Research shows hesitation comes from fear. Many people worry about touching a woman’s chest inappropriately, exposing the chest, or doing the wrong thing.
But in a cardiac arrest, every second counts - and everyone deserves the chance at survival.
This is an important topic we cover in every CPR class at Remedy - addressing hesitation and teaching how to do CPR and use AED on females.
The principles are the same, regardless of gender.
We’re an all female training team helping workplaces and individuals build confidence to step forward in an emergency. Proud to do what we do each and every day 💚
Had you heard about the gender gap in bystander CPR before?
