Back in Motion Moonee Ponds will be doing the Push Up Challenge this year!

The team will be completing a heap of push-ups between 4-26 June, 2025 to raise funds and awareness for mental health.

The Push-Up Challenge

Do you think you have shin splints? Do you have pain on the bottom third of your shin when running/jumping?

This is common in runners, dancers or anyone that has increased their training too quickly.

First and MOST important step → Load management - a short break or reducing the length/intensity of runs or sessions can help your body recover.

Once pain settles we can adress certain muscles to build strength and control. An example of a late stage rehab progression is these Bulgarian split squat jumps.

Other muscles we often work on include:
- Tibialis anterior
- ⁠Tibialis posterior
- ⁠Soleus
- ⁠Gastrocnemius

These muscles target the key muscles around your shin that control your foot during the landing (shock absorption) phase or running and jumping.

WELCOME LYNLEY! 👋🏼👋🏼

Introducing our new senior physiotherapist, Lynley!

Born and bred in the South Island of New Zealand, Lynley completed her physiotherapy degree at Otago University and worked in both the public and private sector before moving to Melbourne in 2011.

With a wealth of Physiotherapy experience, Lynley has treated a variety of conditions and enjoys all aspects of Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy.

Lynley uses a client-focused and holistic approach, striving to educate and empower her clients to live a healthy lifestyle. She has a strong background in Clinical Pilates and Exercise Rehabilitation, while also using a variety of manual techniques.

Outside of Physiotherapy, Lynley is busy spending time with her husband and 3 little legends. She enjoys keeping active, music, exploring good food and wine and will never miss an All Blacks game!

You bet, he smiled the whole way through. 😃😃

The photos you see show the success, but this doesn’t happen overnight, months of training have lead to this. 💪🏼
