New at Woolworths! Yum.

There are now three sets of ‘balls’ from Cadbury - top deck, plain and hazelnut. On special at the moment as well 2 for $10 of any variety.

If you’re looking for some yummy & quick gluten free Xmas dessert inspiration I’ve got two for you. 🎄

First is the gluten free sweet pastry shells from Kitchen Warehouse (I found mine at the Preston location). I coated the inside in a thin layer of dark chocolate to prevent it from getting soggy. Blitzed some pistachios, orange zest and maple syrup together, popped that in the shell as the base and then some added some chocolate mousse from Woolies on top and a dusting of cocoa. Delicious!

The second is the amazing Eton Mess made by my MIL. A recipe from Coles and absolutely delicious with cream, custard, soaked fruit and meringue. A show stopper! 🤤

A third honourable mention but not pictured as I didn’t get a nice photo was my ginger ripple cake. I used the gluten Leda ginger nut biscuits in place of choc ripple biscuits and it went down a treat. 🩷

Did I miss the new noodle flavour? Sickness has been going through our house since last weekend, so it’s been a looong week but hopefully this weekend we’re all feeling better. And all I’ve felt like eating is a noodle cup 😂.

Amazing gluten free basque cheesecake from .melb 😍
All the flavours are gluten free and rotate daily.
I chose original, pandan & Nutella. All absolutely delicious. I will be back (multiple times!) to keep trying them all.
They sell by the slice and you can pre-order larger cakes online, they have some cakes available on the day too but subject to availability. It’s Simon’s favourite dessert so birthdays are sorted for a while 👏.
I should have taken a photo of the texture (elite) but we ate them too fast. 😍

Gluten free on Poros Island in Greece 🇬🇷 . We attended a friends wedding at and the staff were so accomodating with gluten free.
They provided separate gluten free bread at breakfast, the chef went through all the different menus with us (there’s three spots to eat at the resort) to tell me what was safe. And they knew about fresh water for pasta, separate friers for chips and ways to minimise cross contamination.
I wasn’t super adventurous with my eating as I didn’t want to get sick before the wedding. So I tried to minimise the risk where possible to make sure I was feeling well for the wedding. I also had been so sick only a week before so was probably more anxious than normal.

For the wedding they had a buffet and all people with allergies were invited up first to serve them selves. Honestly one of the best buffets I’ve seen in terms of choice and all so fresh! And they had so many gluten free options (more were gluten free then weren’t) including fresh bread and pasta.

The last photo is one of the pages the chef wrote that they hung in the kitchen so that when I ordered all staff knew what to serve me. They were also great with extra snacks for Dawson as needed like boiled eggs, cheese, bananas, anything we asked for. 💖

I didn’t eat out on the island while there but findmeGF app had two places in the main town that looked promising - one had a coeliac in the family and both had great reviews. So I think I should plan another trip back 😅.
