Gluten free on Poros Island in Greece 🇬🇷 . We attended a friends wedding at and the staff were so accomodating with gluten free.
They provided separate gluten free bread at breakfast, the chef went through all the different menus with us (there’s three spots to eat at the resort) to tell me what was safe. And they knew about fresh water for pasta, separate friers for chips and ways to minimise cross contamination.
I wasn’t super adventurous with my eating as I didn’t want to get sick before the wedding. So I tried to minimise the risk where possible to make sure I was feeling well for the wedding. I also had been so sick only a week before so was probably more anxious than normal.

For the wedding they had a buffet and all people with allergies were invited up first to serve them selves. Honestly one of the best buffets I’ve seen in terms of choice and all so fresh! And they had so many gluten free options (more were gluten free then weren’t) including fresh bread and pasta.

The last photo is one of the pages the chef wrote that they hung in the kitchen so that when I ordered all staff knew what to serve me. They were also great with extra snacks for Dawson as needed like boiled eggs, cheese, bananas, anything we asked for. 💖

I didn’t eat out on the island while there but findmeGF app had two places in the main town that looked promising - one had a coeliac in the family and both had great reviews. So I think I should plan another trip back 😅.

A round up of my gluten free time in Athens GREECE 🇬🇷

1. Acropolis go super early! Even better if your baby is jet lagged you’ll be the first in. 😅

2, 3 & 4. is 100% gluten free venue. Plenty of authentic Greek food. This was the best pita we tried during the trip. Nice and cool inside as well if you’re trying to escape the heat.

5. is a 100% gluten free bakery - a short walk out of town. Or you can get delivery to you using the Wolt delivery app. I really enjoyed the food from here. I think there are more options if you go in person.

6 & 7. another 100% gluten free bakery. Slightly closer to the city centre so we walked here. The donut was delicious but I didn’t enjoy the spinach pie pastry. I wish I’d had a chance to try more savoury food. It was a beautiful spot to sit for a coffee.

8, 9, 10 & 11. Stumbled across this store with an extensive gluten free range including lots of things I hadn’t seen before. A coeliac heaven! It was expensive but worth it for the range in my opinion.

12. is a 100% gluten free venue. Two doors up from the Arcadia restaurant. I’m pretty sure it’s the same owner. The moussaka here was delicious.

13. I found this Greek treat at a my market supermarket in Athens. They had a small range of gluten free products but enough basics to get by eg. Bread, pasta, cereal.

An exciting new research update showing diagnosis of coeliac disease is possible and accurate without having people consume gluten.

Instead they introduce the gluten in the blood tube! It works even if you’ve been following a gluten free diet for a while. Amazing work by WEHI in removing the barriers to diagnosis.

Another amazing weekend of weather in Melbourne and some new gluten free products I tried.

First up the noodle cups from Sunrice. Everyone had been saying the noodle texture is great, and I agree. It’s the closest to two minute noodles that I’ve tried. I wish they sold the noodles separately.

Then the funday lollipops. They taste great! Sour apple is delish.

I made some gluten free bread rolls using the Laura Strange Gluten Free recipe. It’s the one using the expensive Caputo flour (which in my opinion is worth it!). With some slow cooker chicken noodle soup. These noodles are the best for soups! I think I purchased from La Manna Essendon or Mediterranean Wholesalers in Brunswick.

Then a yummy lunch out at Eat Cannoli in Preston. I tried their tiramisu bun for the first time. Before we unfortunately got caught up in the Northland lock down. Shout out to the Myer staff who looked after us so well.

Two ingredient changes at Woolworths making both of these now gluten free!

I tried the Toscano ones as they were on special and do not rate. I wouldn’t buy again. And I love macarons so was hoping they would be good. I got them on special for $9.

I’m yet to try the Petite Maison as they’re $19! Has anyone tried and know if they’re any good?

Feeling very spoilt on my first Mothers Day 🩵 Dawson and Simon organised a yummy breakfast at home and a special delivery (uber package for the win) followed by a lovely long lunch out with family 👏 Also lots of cuddles for our fur baby Nelly. 🐶

First churros now donut holes!!

Gluten free products are dropping like it’s hot this month. 😍

Katz donut holes will be dropping at Woolies soon. I spotted them on the app this arvo and was very excited.
