Hi everyone!

My name is Jackson and I am a final year physiotherapy student from Monash University.

I’m excited to be joining the team at Prime Physiotherapy for the next 5 weeks as part of my placement, and I’m really looking forward to meeting you all.

My interest in physiotherapy began when I was 12 and injured my knee during intense track and field training. With the help of a physiotherapist, I recovered within two weeks — that experience showed me the positive impact physio can have and inspired me to pursue a career in the field, particularly in sports-related areas.

So far, I’ve completed placements in acute hospital wards and community settings. Outside of uni, I work as a support worker and occasionally as a personal trainer.

My main areas of interest in physiotherapy include knee and shoulder conditions, particularly scapular dyskinesia and ACL injuries, but I’m eager to continue expanding my knowledge and skills in all aspects throughout this placement.

Outside of physio, I enjoy going to the gym and training in boxing.

I look forward to learning from the team and meeting many of you in the clinic — please say hi!

We were lucky enough to have Luke from Continuum Physiotherapy come in and present to us last week on Soft Skills in Private Practice.

There was so much practical advice and clinical gold in this presentation, that will help us elevate our patient consults even further.

Thanks, Luke for a fantastic presentation and helping us to continually improve our Physiotherapy service provision.

Hello!

My name is Flynn and I am a final year physiotherapy student at La Trobe University.

I am excited to be commencing my 5-week placement at Prime Physiotherapy!

Growing up in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, I didn’t have much exposure to physiotherapy until my teens, when I started seeing my own physiotherapist for dance injuries and strengthening. I have been interested in the profession ever since!

I have previously completed placements in acute hospital wards and community settings, with specific focuses in osteoarthritis, chronic pain and neurological disorders. I have also worked as a sports trainer with my local football club for 3 years, and I regularly mentor younger physio students at La Trobe.

Currently, my professional interests lie in chronic pain, hypermobility and vestibular disorders, but I am looking forward to learning more over this placement and the next.

Outside of physio, I love to read, dance and eat good food.

I look forward to meeting everyone around the clinic. Please say hi!🌻

Hi Everyone! My name is Jackii, I’m a 1st year physiotherapy student at RMIT and I’ll be commencing my 5-week placement at Prime physiotherapy.

My passion for physiotherapy began when those close to me started suffering injuries and illnesses. This made me realise the significant impact physios can have on those in need of care. Ultimately, I chose this career path because I wanted to make a difference and enjoy seeing people improve week after week.

Additionally, I have also gained experience at Kieser and am eager to learn more here at Prime Physiotherapy. My areas of interest in physiotherapy are the knee, in particular ACL injuries.

Outside of physiotherapy, I enjoying going on hikes and travelling. Feel free to give me recommendations on where to go next.

I look forward to meeting you all!

Hi, I'm Manny! I’m currently in my final year of physiotherapy at Monash University and I’ll be completing my placement with the Prime physiotherapy team for the coming five weeks.

I’m excited to be joining the team and having the opportunity to learn from everyone here. I grew up in Wheelers Hill, where I attended high school before moving on to pursue my studies in physiotherapy.

My decision to become a physiotherapist largely stemmed from my passion for helping people and my interest in the way the body works. I currently work as an allied health assistant, where I’ve gained valuable experience in assisting with patient care and rehabilitation. Additionally, I’ve had placements at various health networks across Melbourne, where I've worked closely with patients across a wide range of conditions.

My areas of interest within physiotherapy include knee conditions, particularly patella tendinopathy. Outside of physio, I enjoy playing backyard cricket with my siblings and mates.

I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone here and contributing to the team. Feel free to say hello when you see me around. I look forward to meeting you all!

We were fortunate to have David Serich and the team from Vison Radiology give us an in-service last week on MRI's and their use in musculoskeletal injury diagnosis.

We were joined by our friends from Continuum Physiotherapy Heidelberg (who helped facilitate this presentation).

It was a fabulous presentation with lots of clinical pearls and practical applications. Great networking opportunities as well!

Thank you, Vision Radiology, for the excellent presentation and for the great work that you do with our MSK clients.

Callum presented to the Warrandyte FC Football and Netball clubs last week on injury prevention in sport.

There was a fabulous turn out with the players and club officials and we hope they got a lot of value out of this!

We look forward to working with Warrandyte FC for the season ahead and hopefully, implementing the strategies discussed will see a significant drop in their injuries this season.

We were fortunate to have a presentation from Harrison, a hand therapist from Melbourne Hand Rehab, last week.

Harrison was the hand therapist that helped Callum recover from his hand surgery post fracture last year.

He spoke about the wide range of hand injuries hand therapists treat, as well as custom made splints as well as when surgery is indicated.

It was a very insightful learning experience.
