Today - Tuesday 7th April - is World Health Day!

Led by the World Health Organization, ‘World Health Day’ is a reminder that health is more than just medical care - it’s about feeling supported, included and empowered in everyday life.

Things to remember on WHD and everyday:

🫀 Health is a human right
🌎 Physical, mental & social wellbeing all matter
🫂 Accessible, consistent support is key to better outcomes
👯 People with disability can face extra barriers to care

Through the NDIS, those living with disability can access the support they need to improve their wellbeing and live more independently.

At Incluso, we’re proud to be part of that journey 💙

Stand with science’. The second slide explains that health looks different for everyone, emphasising physical, mental and social wellbeing, the barriers people with disability can face, and the importance of equal access to healthcare. The third slide focuses on support through the NDIS, including daily care, therapy and community access, with a focus on independence, wellbeing and quality of life.]

Today is World Autism Awareness Day 💙

This year’s theme, Inclusion through understanding, is a reminder that awareness is just the starting point.

💡Real impact comes from creating environments where people on the autism spectrum feel supported, respected and included in everyday life.

💡 Around 1 in 100 people worldwide are autistic, yet many still experience barriers when it comes to education, employment, social connection and accessing services.

💡Taking the time to understand different perspectives, communication styles and sensory needs helps break down stigma and build more inclusive communities.

From building independence and confidence to supporting meaningful community participation, our focus is always on empowering people to live life on their terms.

Inclusion starts with understanding, and grows through action!

Today is Purple Day💜 A global awareness day dedicated to increasing understanding of Epilepsy and showing support for the millions of people affected worldwide.

👉Epilepsy is a neurological condition that affects the brain and causes recurring seizures.

👉It can impact people of all ages and looks different for everyone. With greater awareness, education and the right support, people living with epilepsy can lead full and independent lives.

Did you know?

1️⃣ 800,000 Australians will develop epilepsy during their lifetime.
2️⃣ The cause of epilepsy for up to 60% of people remains unknown.
3️⃣ 30% of people with epilepsy will not respond to medication.
4️⃣ Around the world an estimated 65 million people have epilepsy at any given time.

Today is about learning, reducing stigma and standing in solidarity with those living with epilepsy.

Today is World Hearing Day! 👂

Held every year on March 3rd, WHD raises awareness about preventing hearing loss and promoting ear and hearing care worldwide💙

Hearing loss and deafness can affect people of all ages, impacting communication, independence and participation in daily life.

This year’s theme focuses on hearing care for all children: from communities to classrooms.

Did you know?

👉 Hearing loss affects around 90 million children and adolescents aged 5-19 years, across all parts of the world (Global burden of disease study, 2021).

However, it commonly remains undetected, especially in low-resource settings.

👉 Over 60% of childhood hearing loss is preventable through simple, cost-effective public health measures.

👉 Common, preventable and treatable causes of hearing loss - such as Otitis Media with Effusion (OME), Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM), and impacted ear wax - remain widely prevalent in children.

👉 Hearing loss begins insidiously but progresses and worsens over time.

👉 Integrating systematic screening and early intervention programmes into school health and child health plans can ensure improved outcomes for children living with ear or hearing problems.

Independence comes in many forms, and today we celebrate the power of mobility!

International Wheelchair Day is a powerful movement that aims to:

♿ Raise awareness of the difficulties experienced by those who use wheelchairs, not only to acknowledge that they exist.

♿ Promote a more inclusive society in which those with mobility limitations have equal access to opportunities.

♿ Build a culture in which every individual feels respected and empowered, as it is not solely about installing ramps and lifts.

On International Wheelchair Day, we’re proud to provide personalised 1:1 support that helps participants move through life with confidence, dignity and freedom🙌

The NDIS can sometimes feel like learning a whole new language 🧠

Acronyms everywhere, long explanations and not always a clear answer on what actually applies to you.

These are some of the NDIS terms people hear all the time - but are rarely explained properly👆

At Incluso Services, we help make sense of the system, talk you through your supports and guide you step by step so you can feel confident in the choices you’re making.

Support should feel clear, not confusing🤝

Congratulations to our participant Morgan on passing her VORT (Vehicle On Road Test)! 🚗

This is a fantastic milestone and a reflection of her hard work, determination and preparation that she put into reaching this goal. 👏

“Having my licence will help me with independence, getting to and from work/places and will also help expand my job search”, Morgan shares.

Here’s how the team at Incluso Services supported Morgan along the way 👇

✅ Research & information support – understanding licensing requirements, the steps toward the VORT and what to expect on the day.
✅ Study & preparation – accessing online practice tests, reviewing road rules, and building knowledge through structured learning.
✅ Confidence building – encouragement, reassurance, and strategies to manage nerves before lessons and the test.
✅ Practical assistance – support to attend lessons and appointments, helping with organisation and follow-through.

Success looks different for everyone, and we’re proud to walk alongside participants as they work toward their independence and personal goals.

Congratulations Morgan!

Today is International Asperger’s Day 💜

Asperger’s syndrome is a term that has historically been used to describe people on the autism spectrum. Today, it is included within Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), but many people still use the term Asperger’s as part of their identity.

👉 It is a developmental disorder that affects how a person’s brain processes information.

👉 It is often diagnosed during childhood, and affects behaviour, social interaction, communication, the ability to understand what others may be thinking and may increase sensory sensitivity.

👉 People with Asperger’s or ASD often have average or above-average intelligence and strong language skills, deep knowledge in their interests, strong attention to detail, honesty and unique ways of thinking.

Every person’s experience is different.

At Incluso Services, we provide support that is person-centred, respectful and tailored to individual needs and goals.

With understanding, clear communication and consistency, we aim to create environments where people feel confident, supported and included. 💜
