When you consult a naturopath, from our clinic, you will find a person committed to your health and w

ellness in a completely holistic way. An initial consultation takes 40 minutes. The Naturopathic Doctor will take a medical history, which will involve questions regarding your current symptoms and health, past illnesses and operations, past and present medications, family history and dietary information. Non invasive tests will be performed at this appointment which will help the practitioner diagnose your health at the present state and to identify any problems that may arise regarding your health in the future. These tests are explained under the test section on this website. Using the information from the medical history and results from the tests performed allow the practitioner to develop a treatment plan. A Naturopathic Physician treats the underlying causes of disease, not just the symptoms. This approach is necessary for the patient to achieve optimum health and wellness over the cause of there lives. Disease affects the entire person, not just a specific organ or system. Thoughts, feelings, lifestyle, family history, environmental stresses, nutritional status and general physical state are all carefully evaluated. The Naturopath will then advice on dietary and lifestyle changes and where indicated prescribe naturopathic medication to not only address the symptoms but also address the underlying cause. Naturopathic medication consists of herbal, nutritional and homeopathic Medicine. Emotional factors may also be corrected using a technique called the “Neuro Emotional Technique” (NET).

There’s a lot of noise in the health space 😣

Tips, tricks, shortcuts, opinions, quick fixes… it can feel overwhelming ‼️

The truth? You don’t need to do everything. You just need to do what’s relevant for you.

Start with what feels manageable:
☀️ A simple routine
🥑 A few healthy swaps in the pantry
🛌 Going to bed that little bit earlier
🏃‍♀️ A form of exercise you actually enjoy
🚰 That extra glass of water

Health doesn’t come from always doing more… it comes from doing what matters consistently 🌿

Your skin is your body’s largest organ and it does so much more than just sit on the surface 🙌

It plays a key role in protection, detoxification, immune function and even acts as a window into your internal health.

That’s why skin changes are often more than just “skin deep”…

While topical products can help, recurring concerns like ACNE, ECZEMA or persistent REDNESS are often signs of deeper imbalances within the body.

Some common internal contributors we see include:
🔥 Digestive issues
🔥 Nutrient deficiencies
🔥 Hormonal shifts
🔥 Inflammation
🔥 Ongoing stress

This is why a naturopathic approach looks beyond the surface. Instead of just treating the skin, we focus on supporting the body as a whole, improving gut health, reducing inflammatory triggers, replenishing key nutrients and calming the nervous system so the body can return to balance ⚖️

When the internal environment is supported, the skin often begins to reflect that shift!

If you’ve been managing skin issues without lasting results, it may be time to explore what’s happening beneath the surface. Reach out to book a consultation and start addressing the root cause 🌿

Not all food reactions are created equal & understanding the difference can be a real turning point for your health…

🥜 Food allergies tend to be IMMEDIATE AND OBVIOUS, often involving the immune system in an acute way. Think: swelling, hives, itching, or difficulty breathing. Reactions that happen quickly and are hard to miss 🔥

🍤 Food sensitivities, on the other hand, are much more SUBTLE AND OFTEN DELAYED.

They can show up hours, or even days, after eating a particular food, which is why they’re so commonly overlooked…

For food sensitivities, you might notice things like:
🚫 Bloating or digestive discomfort
🚫 Headaches or migraines
🚫 Skin flare-ups (acne, eczema, redness)
🚫 Fatigue or low energy
🚫 Brain fog or poor concentration

Because the reaction isn’t immediate, many people don’t make the connection between what they ate and how they feel 🤔

Often, sensitivities are linked to underlying imbalances, particularly in the gut 🦠 When the gut lining is compromised or the microbiome is out of balance, the body can become more reactive to certain foods.

In clinic, we take a step back and look at the bigger picture. By identifying patterns between food and symptoms, we can get to the root cause of what’s really going on.

The goal isn’t to restrict certain foods forever… it’s to understand your body, reduce symptoms, and rebuild resilience where possible 💪

Because once you understand how your body responds to food, everything starts to make a lot more sense ✅

We often think more sleep = more energy… but it’s not always that simple 🛌

Energy is influenced by so many things; what you eat, how you manage stress, how well you digest your food, and even how often you pause throughout the day.

If you’re feeling flat, it might be worth checking in on the basics:
🥩 Are you eating enough (especially protein)?
💧 Are you hydrated?
🫩 Are you constantly “on” without breaks?
☀️ Are you getting natural light during the day?

Energy isn’t just about rest. It’s about how you support your body across the whole day.

Listen Early…

The earlier you respond to symptoms, the easier they are to shift 🌿

It’s easy to brush things off - a bit of fatigue, some bloating, skin changes, headaches, or feeling a little “off” - but these are often your body’s early signals, not random inconveniences 🛑

Ignoring them doesn’t make them go away… it just means your body has to work harder to get your attention later.

Your body is constantly communicating with you.
🤫 At first, it’s subtle. Manageable. Easy to overlook.
😡 But over time, those whispers can turn into louder, more persistent symptoms.

That’s why tuning in early matters.
✨ Addressing symptoms early is often simpler and more effective
✨ It can prevent small imbalances from becoming more complex
✨ It allows you to support your body before burnout or dysfunction sets in

Listening to your body isn’t overreacting, it’s being proactive. Because your body will always tell you what it needs… the question is whether we’re listening 👂

After an infection 🦠 , some people bounce back quickly… and others just don’t feel the same for weeks (or even months) 😪

If that’s you, you’re not imagining it, and it’s not a lack of motivation. This is physiology, not laziness!

You might be experiencing:
👎 Ongoing exhaustion
👎 Brain fog
👎 Reduced exercise tolerance
👎 Dizziness or lightheadedness
👎 Mood changes

What’s happening here is that your body is still recovering behind the scenes. Your immune system, nervous system and energy production pathways can all take a hit during illness, and sometimes they need extra support to come back online properly.

Recovery often requires a more intentional approach, including:
🌿 Gradual pacing (rather than pushing through)
🌿 Nervous system support
🌿 Targeted nutrients to support energy production
🌿 Anti-inflammatory strategies
🌿 Ongoing immune support

Healing isn’t always quick… but with the right support, it can absolutely improve 📈

If you’ve been feeling “off” since getting sick and can’t seem to bounce back, it might be time to look a little deeper. Reach out if you’d like support with your recovery 💛

Baked Eggplant with Tahini, Pomegranate & Dukkah

Looking for a simple, satisfying, flavoursome side dish? This is one of those plant-based dishes that genuinely hits the spot and is a great accompaniment to any meal..

What you’ll need:
🍆 2-3 eggplants, halved
🍆 Extra virgin olive oil
🍆 2 tbsp tahini
🍆 ½ lemon, juiced
🍆 1 garlic clove, minced
🍆 Fresh parsley
🍆 Pomegranate seeds
🍆 Dukkah

What to do:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 190oC. Grill the eggplant flesh-side-down on a hot non-stick pan until golden and slightly charred.
2️⃣ Transfer to an oven-safe dish and roast the eggplant until it’s soft and golden - 15-30 minutes (this is where the magic happens).
3️⃣ While that’s cooking, mix together the tahini, lemon juice, garlic and a splash of olive oil for a creamy, tangy dressing.
4️⃣ Remove the eggplant from the oven and pour over the tahini dressing.
5️⃣ Serve with fresh parsley, a sprinkle of dukkah, and those juicy pops of pomegranate.

It’s the perfect balance of creamy, crunchy, and fresh… plus it’s naturally rich in fibre and antioxidants to support gut health 🌿

Save this for your next easy side or light meal!
