The Naturopathic Doctor will take a medical history, which will involve questions regarding your current symptoms and health, past illnesses and operations, past and present medications, family history and dietary information. Non invasive tests will be performed at this appointment which will help the practitioner diagnose your health at the present state and to identify any problems that may arise regarding your health in the future. These tests are explained under the test section on this website. Using the information from the medical history and results from the tests performed allow the practitioner to develop a treatment plan. 🤷‍♀️ It BOGGLES us that many people still don’t know that hormonal issues like PMS, PCOS, acne, perimenopause changes, painful periods, low libido, and mood shifts are DEEPLY CONNECTED to what’s happening in the gut, nervous system, and inflammatory pathways.

🚨 LADIES! Your hormones don’t operate in isolation - they respond to stress, inflammation, nutrient status, blood sugar stability, and how well you’re ovulating each cycle.

A naturopathic approach focuses on restoring balance from the inside out by supporting:

🌿 Healthy ovulation – because regular, robust ovulation is essential for balanced progesterone and smoother cycles

🌿 Stable blood sugar – preventing energy crashes, cravings, irritability, acne, and hormone dysregulation

🌿 Lower inflammation – reducing pain, skin flare-ups, bloating, heavy periods, and mood symptoms

🌿 Healthy gut function – so your body can eliminate excess hormones rather than recirculating them

🌿 Nutritional & herbal support – to replenish key nutrients (like magnesium, iron, B vitamins, zinc, iodine) and gently nudge your hormones back into harmony

When these foundations are supported, symptoms often ease naturally, because you’re addressing the ROOT CAUSE, not just masking what your body is trying to communicate.

If you’re dealing with hormonal issues or simply feel “not quite yourself,” you don’t need to navigate it alone. Send us a message, we’d love to support you toward feeling balanced again ❤️

16/01/2026

Inflammation is a natural and necessary part of the healing process. It’s your body’s built-in defence system. When you get injured, sick, or exposed to something harmful, short-term inflammation helps repair tissue and fight infection.

But when inflammation becomes chronic, the body stays in a constant “alert” state 🚨

This long-term activation can quietly impact different systems in the body and contribute to symptoms like:
🔥 Skin flare-ups (eczema, acne, rashes)
 🔥 Bloated or sluggish digestion
🔥 Persistent fatigue or brain fog
 🔥 Joint pain or stiffness
 🔥 Hormonal imbalance
 🔥 Low mood or anxiety

Chronic inflammation often builds up slowly over time due to ongoing internal stressors, such as poor gut health, chronic stress, cortisol dysregulation, blood sugar imbalances, nutrient deficiencies and underlying immune dysfunction.

So, instead of turning “on” and then “off” like it should, your immune system stays slightly activated, creating a low-grade, persistent inflammatory response, which causes mayhem on your body 😳

So how do you switch to “off” mode?

We’ve got you covered! A targeted approach focuses on calming the inflammatory response while addressing the root causes to avoid future flare-ups. For you, this may look like:
 🌿 Identifying food triggers
 🌿 Improving gut integrity
🌿 Eating an anti-inflammatory diet high in phytonutrients and omega 3s
 🌿 Balancing blood sugars
🌿 Nutritional supplementation to correct deficiencies
 🌿 Reducing cortisol

With the right support, chronic inflammation can be significantly reduced, often improving energy, mood, digestion, skin health and overall wellbeing.

Craving a little crunch without the carbs? 🧇🥐🥔🥖🍞

Then try your hand at making these simple Low-Carb Seed Crackers!

Not only are they super simple to make, but they make an amazing snack, or top with avocado and smoked salmon for a high protein, nutritious lunch.

Ingredients:
• ½ cup chia seeds
• ½ cup flaxseeds (whole or ground)
• ½ cup sunflower seeds
• ½ cup pumpkin seeds
• 2 tbsp sesame seeds
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp garlic powder or mixed herbs (optional)
• 1¼ cups water
• 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 160°C (fan-forced).
2. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
3. Add water and olive oil and stir well. The chia + flax will absorb the water and thicken the mixture into a gel-like dough after 5–10 minutes.
4. Spread the mixture thinly onto a baking tray lined with baking paper. Aim for an even layer to ensure crisp crackers.
5. Score into cracker shapes with a knife or leave whole (you can break them later).
6. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until dry and crisp. If the edges brown faster, remove them earlier.
7. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces. Store in an airtight container.

Why these crackers are so GREAT 🥑
✔ Extremely low-carb
✔ High in fibre → supports digestion + gut motility
✔ Packed with minerals, healthy fats and anti-inflammatory nutrients
✔ No flour, grains or additives

✨ Optional flavour variations ✨
• Rosemary + sea salt
• Chilli + garlic
• Turmeric + black pepper (extra anti-inflammatory)
• Everything bagel seasoning

That’s right, your “Happy Hormone” is actually made primarily in your gut!

Serotonin is created from tryptophan, an amino acid found in protein-rich foods. When you eat enough quality protein (think eggs, lean meats, fish, tofu, nuts and seeds), your gut cells and beneficial microbes have the building blocks they need to produce serotonin. Without adequate protein, your body simply can’t make enough, which can affect mood, sleep, digestion and stress tolerance.

Even though gut-derived serotonin doesn’t cross to the brain directly, your gut and brain are strongly connected, so it still has a powerful influence on your nervous system, and in turn, your mood.

Serotonin in the gut affects:
✨ gut motility (how your food moves through your digestive system)
✨ inflammation levels (high inflammation = bad mood)
✨ stress signalling (if your gut is stressed, it sends stress signals to the brain too)

All of which can shape how you feel emotionally.

Supporting gut health with whole foods, adequate protein, lifestyle adjustments and targeted naturopathic care can strengthen your natural production of serotonin to improve your emotional balance, energy and resilience.

If you’re experiencing mood changes, addressing gut function may be an important part of the solution for you.
