For MACG resident Peter, painting is an essential part of staying active and engaged 🎨

This weekend, we are incredibly proud of Peter for presenting his talent at the Amaroo Neighbourhood Centre Annual Art Show! Since moving into our Grand Cedar home with his wife Alison in 2023, Peter has created dozens of paintings, often creating beautiful pieces specifically for his fellow MACG residents, and even to our staff 🖼️

For Peter, art is far more than a hobby. "I loved drawing as a kid," he says. "When I retired, if I hadn't found painting, I would be long dead. I have an active mind, and painting keeps my mind busy."

This year, Peter is entering three pieces, each celebrating Australian history, and has offered to donate any prize money straight back to the Amaroo pantry and meals program, giving back to the community that means so much to him and his fellow Grand Cedar residents 💛

This is a great example of the incredible ways MACG residents continue to share their gifts, passions, and stories with the community around them!

We believe that finding joy, purpose, and connection is at the heart of living well. Since 2023, our residents, families, and staff have shared a wonderful bond with the Amaroo Neighbourhood Centre. From supporting the local Community Pantry, to hosting shared High Teas and ladies luncheons, it’s a relationship built on genuine, lasting friendships 🤝

Join us in wishing Peter the best of luck this weekend! Leave a message of support for him in the comments below 👇

Our best reward is seeing a resident smile, reconnect with a memory, or share a laugh with their family. This is why we do what we do 💙

And this is exactly why we are incredibly thankful to share with our community that we have been named a finalist in five categories at the upcoming Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards in Singapore. While the awards are wonderful, the real prize is why we were nominated. At MACG, everything we do and every new idea we introduce - is about one thing: improving the lives, wellbeing, and happiness of our residents.

We’re heading there with our innovation partners who help us bring this vision to life:
🥽 : Helping our residents travel the world and unlocking beautiful memories through Virtual Reality.
📸 .family_: Keeping families connected every single day with shared photos and messages.
🤖 : Bringing smiles and breaking down language barriers with our friendly robot ABI.

For us, clinical care is just the beginning. True care means connection, joy, and finding new ways to make every day special.

A massive thank you to our wellbeing teams for bringing this magic to life every single day in our homes.

Last week, residents from our MACG homes spent a beautiful sunny day at the .
Through our partnership with the and the Ciao! Project, our residents were paired with volunteers for a day of exploration. From navigating the vibrant floral artistry to sharing stories over lunch, the focus was entirely on connection.

One of the day's highlights was a special moment Royal Exhibition Building, where our residents and volunteers exchanged bunches of flowers and photos, celebrating new, meaningful friendships.

A huge thank you to the Amplifon Foundation for hosting us. While the Ciao! Project connects us through innovative technology in our homes, days like these remind us that the feeling of belonging is the same whether we are on a screen or in a beautiful garden.

Today at Grand Cedar Home, we held one of our favorite monthly traditions: the Men's Lunch! Always a great time bringing the boys together for good food, good laughs, and a good chat. And this time was a bit more special as Cameron, our CEO, joined the guys for lunch.

At MACG, we're all about fostering a warm, homelike environment, and leaders who pull up a chair with our residents are exactly what that looks like in action.

It’s not just about the meal; it’s about the wellbeing, belonging, and connection that happens when we all share a moment together.

Day one at the Melbourne Ageing Well Expo has been full of smiles, and incredible connections.

It was such a joy to see so many curious faces light up as they met our friendly robot ABI, explored new worlds with SilVR Adventures, and discovered how Tea Time Family and Sensory Wizard are bringing more comfort and connection to MACG residents lives.

One of our favorite highlights? Seeing so many of you walk away with a Worry Doll. These were handmade by our very own MACG residents, and sharing a piece of their creativity with the community today felt so special ❤️

If you missed us today, we’d love to see you tomorrow for the final day of the expo. We’ll be taking to the Main Stage with our innovation partners to share more about how technology and heart come together at MACG. Come say hello at booth 306, meet our team, and experience the future of aged care for yourself.

See you there!
