For MACG resident Peter, painting is an essential part of staying active and engaged 🎨
This weekend, we are incredibly proud of Peter for presenting his talent at the Amaroo Neighbourhood Centre Annual Art Show! Since moving into our Grand Cedar home with his wife Alison in 2023, Peter has created dozens of paintings, often creating beautiful pieces specifically for his fellow MACG residents, and even to our staff 🖼️
For Peter, art is far more than a hobby. "I loved drawing as a kid," he says. "When I retired, if I hadn't found painting, I would be long dead. I have an active mind, and painting keeps my mind busy."
This year, Peter is entering three pieces, each celebrating Australian history, and has offered to donate any prize money straight back to the Amaroo pantry and meals program, giving back to the community that means so much to him and his fellow Grand Cedar residents 💛
This is a great example of the incredible ways MACG residents continue to share their gifts, passions, and stories with the community around them!
We believe that finding joy, purpose, and connection is at the heart of living well. Since 2023, our residents, families, and staff have shared a wonderful bond with the Amaroo Neighbourhood Centre. From supporting the local Community Pantry, to hosting shared High Teas and ladies luncheons, it’s a relationship built on genuine, lasting friendships 🤝
Join us in wishing Peter the best of luck this weekend! Leave a message of support for him in the comments below 👇
