Introducing our new Osteo!! Welcome to the team Tina!!
She is available on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Bio:

Tina is a graduate from RMIT with a commitment to making a positive difference in everyone’s lives. Her tailored treatment to each individual focuses on the person, and not the disease. Her treatments may include various techniques like soft tissue massage techniques, joint articulations, mobilisations, dry needling with or without electrotherapy, cupping, and stretching. Tina believes movement is a key component of keeping our bodies healthy and happy, so you may find her trying to give out rehabilitation exercises as homework for her patients!

As an aunty to three kids, Tina has developed an interest in treating pregnancy related conditions as well as women’s health related conditions.

Outside of osteopathy, you can find Tina enjoying herself in the local restaurants, spending time with her family and loved ones, at the gym figuring out how to use the machines, or at home watching the latest Korean drama.

Wow! 2023 almost done and another Christmas party for the KOH team! And what a team we have!

We have some new faces and obviously the old haha

We would like to thank our clients for their ongoing support. We wouldn’t be here without you 🙂

For those of you who do not know, Vasilia had her last shift at KOH. The KOH team has accomplished so much with her in it, and cannot believe the time has come to say good bye!
We thank you for your wisdom, support, care and passion! We are going to miss your sense of calmness, so Petar may need to use more essential oils at the clinic lol

The KOH team and community want to wish you and the family much success and happiness on your new venture in WA!

The team already miss you! 🥹

Today we remember and honor the sacrifices made by the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) during World War I and all servicemen and women who have served and died in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions since. The Anzac spirit of courage, endurance, and mateship continues to inspire us today, and we must never forget the sacrifices made by those who have served our countries. Lest we forget.

How do osteopaths treat lower back pain??

Osteopaths treat lower back pain using a variety of techniques that are designed to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and restore function. Some of the techniques used by osteopaths to treat lower back pain include:

1. Soft tissue techniques: Osteopaths use soft tissue techniques, such as massage, to help relieve muscle tension and improve blood flow to the affected area.

2. Joint mobilization: Joint mobilization involves gently moving the affected joint through its range of motion to help improve its mobility and reduce pain.

3. Muscle energy techniques: Muscle energy techniques involve the use of muscle contractions to help restore proper alignment and function of the affected joints.

4. High-velocity low-amplitude (HVLA) thrust: HVLA is a technique in which the osteopath uses a quick, controlled movement to manipulate the affected joint. This technique is often used to help restore proper joint alignment.

5. Myofascial release: Myofascial release involves applying gentle pressure to the affected area to help release tension in the fascia (connective tissue) surrounding the muscles and joints.

In addition to these hands-on techniques, osteopaths may also provide advice on exercises, stretching, and lifestyle modifications to help prevent future episodes of lower back pain. Osteopathic treatment for lower back pain is tailored to each individual patient, taking into account their unique symptoms and medical history.

With autumn settling in and summer activities coming to a close, it’s important to think about how you’re taking care of your body as you head into the colder months. A lot of physical activities you engaged in over summer could have put a strain on your muscles, and not taking care of them now can lead to bigger problems down the line. This is where an osteopath can help.

Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that aims to diagnose and treat issues related to the musculoskeletal system. As the temperature drops and the colder months begin, it’s not uncommon to experience aches and pains in your body. Osteopathy can offer relief from these symptoms by diagnosing and treating areas of muscle tension and joint immobility, which in turn can lead to greater overall wellness.

So, how exactly can an osteopath help you during autumn? Here are some of the most common health issues that people face during this season and how osteopathy can address them:

1. Preparing for the winter sports season: Many wintertime sports like footy, soccer etc require a lot of strength, flexibility and stamina. An osteopath can help you prepare for the winter sports season by improving your overall physical condition and addressing any related injuries or strains.

2. Relieving seasonal aches and pains: As the weather changes, you may notice more aches and pains in your joints or muscles. An osteopath can help relieve this symptoms by treating the underlying issues that are contributing to your discomfort.

Overall, seeing an osteopath during autumn can be a great way to prepare for the weather changes heading our way. Osteopaths can help you move more easily, decrease pain, and feel better by addressing areas of muscle and skeletal tension. Make sure to check in with our osteopaths to discuss.
