For years people told me: “Just exercise more.”
What they didn’t realise was that I was living with Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS).
When I used to teach children folklore dancing, some mums would say I’d lose weight just by being active. But PCOS, hormones and insulin resistance make weight loss much more complex.
Many people assume being overweight means someone is lazy. The truth is there are often deeper medical and hormonal factors behind it.
After trying everything, I chose Bariatric surgery, which can help improve metabolic health and insulin resistance for many people.
Now through my work I support women and men navigating weight loss, bariatric journeys and confidence.
If you’re considering surgery, I work alongside BetterLife Surgery (consult with them first, then referral to me).
Or you can contact me directly for counselling.
