Presented by the unstoppable Women for Challenge Committee, this annual event embodies the very essence of womanhood, drawing together a multitude of women in celebration and empowerment.

Challenge is a not-for-profit organisation that supports children and families living with cancer, 365 days a year. Their support is free and immediate, helping to lighten the cancer journey by addressing the practical, social, and emotional needs of all their members.

My passion is creating individual smiles for each one of the patient’s that I see. My biggest satisfaction is seeing their lives changed for the better.

This beautiful lady came to see me as she wanted to change the overall look of her smile.

After having had a “not so positive” experience where she had composite veneers done, plus having experienced a fall that damaged her teeth, she was ready for a proper new smile.

After an initial consultation and thoroughly studying her case, my suggestion was to create a new smile using porcelain veneers.

The Melbourne Institute for Aesthetic Dentistry is Australia’s premiere professional training Centre in the Art and Science of minimally-invasive Aesthetic Dentistry.

We are pleased to announce the very first course for 2024: The Art & Science of Composite Resin Veneers. This theory and hands-on course will be led by Dr Yvonne King and her team and will take place between 12-13 April 2024.

The course will give you the opportunity to learn: The principles of successful resin veneers placement, discuss and analyze your own cases, and work on your own patient.

Embarking with a patient on their smile journey is an exciting adventure.

It’s in the first visit we have together that we get to know each other on a personal level.

I always feel privileged to learn about their stories, and the reasons behind their desire for a new smile.

Having this instance allows me not only to propose a “dental treatment”, but to design an individual smile that matches their personality and lifestyle.

In some cases, they want to have straighter teeth, so we begin with clear aligners. In other instances, they want a completely new smile, for which I usually suggest either resin or porcelain veneers.

Embarking on a “smile journey” with my patient’s, is a rollercoaster full of excitement and emotions.

Not only do I get to know them on a personal level, but I also get to learn about their dreams and desires.

In some cases, a smile makeover is their way to heal, for others it’s allowing themselves a new opportunity in life.

Undoubtedly, my favourite moment in this process is when they see their new smile for the first time. That’s when the true emotions come out, the tears flow and I feel my mission has been accomplished.

Last week I had the privilege to attend the FDI World Dental Congress 2023, which took place in Sydney. Hosted by the Australian Dental Association, this was a triumphant return to an in-person event!

This was an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest trends in dentistry, interact with fellow professionals from all over the world, and listen to presentations that covered a fascinating array of dental information and services.
