📖 Study With Me — Posture Month Edition!

Did you know your posture can directly affect your BRAIN? Such things as balance, cognition, and reaction time — especially when you're multitasking.

In this recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine, researchers found that poor posture negatively impacts postural stability and cognitive performance when people are asked to perform two tasks at once.

In other words — slouching affects more than your spine. It affects how well your brain and body work together.

Another great reason to stay posture-aware this month!

Welcome to Day 6 of our 7-Day Posture Challenge!

Today we’re testing your upper body mobility with something called the “W-Y-I-T” test.

This is a simple way to check how well the muscles and joints around your shoulders, upper and mid back are moving and co-ordinating together.

With so many of us sitting too long and finding ourselves hunching - this posture over time can impact the function and balance of the upper body.

Here’s how to do it:
✅ Stand with your back against a wall, feet just a little away from it
✅ Make sure the back of your head, upper back, and pelvis are lightly touching the wall

Now — move your arms into these positions while keeping them as close to the wall as you can:
👉 W — elbows bent, back of hands near shoulders
👉 Y — arms up overhead in a wide V
👉 I — arms straight up
👉 T — arms out to the sides
It’s harder than it looks!

f you find it tricky, it might mean you’ve got some stiffness in your upper back, tight shoulders, or poor postural control. But the good news is — this is something we can work on!

🎁 And there’s a prize up for grabs today too — a Travel Pillow valued at over $75!
To enter:Post a video of yourself giving it a go, or drop a comment below and tell us how you went!

Terms and conditions apply — prize must be collected from our practice and isn’t redeemable for cash, one winner for the June 2025 Posture Challenge
Alright, your turn — let’s see those W-Y-I-T moves!

📢 It’s Mobility Monday!

Each week we’ll be sharing quick, practical ways to help you move better, feel stronger, and support healthier posture.

This week, we’re kicking things off with the Sitting-Rising Test — a simple, research-backed movement screen that’s been linked to longevity and overall mobility.

The challenge:
See if you can get down to the floor and back up again without using your hands, knees, or any support. It’s a great way to check your balance, flexibility, strength, and body control.

👉 Important: If you have any ankle, knee, hip, or balance issues — or if you’re unsure — please skip this one or check with us first. Safety first!

We’d love to see how you go! 📹
Record a video of yourself doing the test and tag us — or share your score in the comments below.

Because when you move better, you feel better.

Follow along every Monday for simple ways to look after your posture, spine, and overall health. 💚

Meet my incredible Mum, who's also known as Ma and Nonna! 💝 Though she may be small in stature, her love and influence in my life are immeasurable.

Sharing this precious moment from our family Mother's Day celebration at my brother's place. It included pizza of course. - my sister in law makes a delicious pizza in a wood fired oven!

Mum's gentle guidance and support have shaped not only who I am but also the essence of our business. She's taught me the value of dedication, love for what you do, and the importance of family. ❤️

Forever grateful for this powerhouse of strength and energy who continues to inspire me every single day! 🌟
