As someone with a Diploma in energy + frequency healing, these are some of the simple but powerful things that genuinely helped me on my healing journey with chronic illness.
When I was unwell, I realised healing wasn’t just about trying random supplements or waiting for symptoms to go away. I had to start looking at how stress was living in my body, how my nervous system was functioning, and what was keeping me stuck in a constant state of fight or flight.
Somatic movement helped me reconnect with my body in a way that felt safe and supportive. When stress and emotion build up over time, the body stores tension. Gentle movement helped me release some of that stored tension, improve body awareness, and stop feeling so disconnected from what was going on inside me.
Getting into nature + grounding made a huge difference because nature helps regulate the nervous system. For me, it helped lower stress, reduce overstimulation, and bring me out of that constant “on edge” feeling. Even just being barefoot on the grass or walking among trees helped me feel more present and less trapped in my head.
Turning off wifi at night + avoiding bluetooth headphones is something I personally do to reduce extra stimulation on my system. When you’re already stressed, burnt out, or sensitive, the little things can add up. Creating a calmer environment at night helped me wind down better and made rest feel more restorative.
Humming + vocal toning became really supportive because they stimulate the vagus nerve, which plays a big role in helping the body come out of stress mode. It’s such a simple practice, but it can help calm the heart rate, settle the body, and create a sense of safety from within.
None of these things are magic on their own, but together they helped me support my body in a more holistic way. Sometimes it’s the simple things, done consistently, that create the biggest shifts over time.
