At Opendoor, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home. In partnership with Anchor Community Care Ltd. through our Workforce Australia Services, we’ve worked alongside local youth to transform shared spaces for young people who have experienced homelessness.

This project is more than renovations - it’s about creating stability, building skills, and fostering community. Participants in our programs gained hands-on experience while contributing to a safe, welcoming home for residents, many of whom have faced incredibly tough journeys.

Together, we’re helping tackle the housing crisis one project at a time - supporting those seeking employment and those in need of secure housing.

“At the start, I wanted to quit all the time.”

When Nina first joined Opendoor, she had just moved to Melbourne, wasn’t working, and wasn’t sure how to start.

With support from her Community Access worker and Training team, she stuck it out - finishing her childcare course, gaining confidence, and landing a job offer on the final day of her placement.

Now she’s volunteering in the same classroom she once studied in, helping others find their own way forward.
