🧠 October is ADHD Awareness Month.

This year’s theme, “The Many Faces of ADHD,” reminds us that ADHD shows up differently for everyone — in school, at work, and in daily life.

Awareness matters because it breaks down stigma, helps teachers and employers better understand neurodiverse people, and creates environments where everyone can thrive.

Here are a few simple ways to support ADHD Awareness Month:
✨ Learn more about ADHD from trusted sources.
✨ Listen to lived experiences with an open mind.
✨ Challenge stereotypes and language that dismiss neurodiverse people.
✨ Share resources to help others understand.

Together, we can build workplaces, schools, and communities where difference is valued and every person has the chance to succeed.

🌏 Today is the International Day of Peace.

This year’s theme “Act Now for a Peaceful World” is a reminder that peace doesn’t just happen on a global stage – it begins in our communities.

At Opendoor, we believe peace is built through opportunity, respect, and inclusion. By creating pathways to employment and supporting people facing barriers, we see every day how dignity and purpose can transform lives.

💡 Acts of peace can be simple: listening with empathy, challenging discrimination, giving someone a chance, or making space for every voice at the table.

Together, these small actions add up to a more peaceful world. ✨

Work creates change 🌱

This year, Cleanable continued to prove how social enterprise delivers both business results and community impact:

📊 22,987 hours of paid employment created
💰 $784,106 in award wages earned
🌍 30,000+ kg of litter removed from parks and waterways

And that’s just the beginning. Cleanable also launched in Queensland, formed new partnerships, and opened doors to employment for people facing barriers to work.

Created by Opendoor, Cleanable shows what’s possible when business and purpose come together.

What to say when someone’s not OK.

R U OK? Day exists to inspire genuine, everyday conversations that can make a real difference to someone who's struggling - not just today, but any day.
The team behind R U OK? reminds us that asking the question is just the beginning. And while many of us do ask, sometimes we’re not sure how to hold space when the answer is hard to hear.
If someone tells you they’re not OK:
✔ Listen without judgement
✔ Don’t try to fix it straight away
✔ Let them know they’re not alone
✔ Ask what support they need
✔ Check in again later

A conversation won’t solve everything - but it can be the first step.
