Annecto

Annecto Annecto is a disability and aged care support provider.

We find the best way to provide individualised services by listening to the needs and goals of the people we support, their families and their community. Our focus is on supporting the individual and the community as a whole so both can be healthier and more in control, to live the life they choose.

Annecto has been providing support services across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory for more than 70 years 🧑.

In July 2025, Annecto will cease all aged care and disability services.

This difficult decision was made after deliberation and consultation which considered the service model shifts in the aged care and disability sectors, and the financial challenges facing the organisation.

Our focus now is working together to transition the people we support and the services they receive to other trusted providers who can continue delivering the support they need and deserve.

To the people we support, we understand that this is a challenging time and want to remind you that we are here to support you through this transition. We have sent you a letter in the mail about this announcement which you will receive shortly. In the meantime, please contact us for any concerns or questions on 1300 530 705 or email customersupport@annecto.org.au.

If you need any additional support during this time, please consider reaching out to one of the organisations listed below.

For aged care support:
β€’ The Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) can provide free, independent and confidential support to older people receiving aged care. We can arrange to connect you to OPAN, or you can call direct on 1800 700 600.
β€’ The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission is an independent body for people to raise concerns about the aged care services they receive. The Commission will ensure confidentiality upon request and can be contacted on 1800 951 822.

For disability support:
β€’ Contact your NDIA Local Area Coordinator
β€’ Phone the NDIS on 1800 800 110

Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia - IDAHOBIT. Annecto acknowledges the continued fight for LGBTQIA+ rights. We recognise that putting an end to LGBTQIA+phobia and discrimination is something we all need to continuously work towards together.

That’s what IDAHOBIT Day is all about β€” standing up for inclusion and respect. To bring awareness to this date, let’s bust some common myths and help make our workplaces safer and more welcoming:

πŸ’¬ Myth 1: Supporting gender-diverse people is not necessary in a workplace.
βœ… Truth: Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected at work β€” giving gender-diverse staff the right support helps them feel like they belong and can do their best.

πŸ’¬ Myth 2: Inclusion is just about having policies.
βœ… Truth: It’s also about building a culture where everyone feels welcome and valued.

πŸ’¬ Myth 3: There are only two genders.
βœ… Truth: Gender is a spectrum. We can show respect by using inclusive language, offering education, and updating how we collect gender information.

Yesterday was Mother's Day, and here at Annecto we think of all the mothers and motherly figures out there, the grandmothers, the aunties, the mums-at-heart, the friends, the pet mums, the godmothers, the adoptive mums, the sisters and the step-mothers who made us who we are today.

Annecto acknowledges that the day can mean different things for different people. It can be difficult, nostalgic or sad, but for some, it can also be a celebration and a time to remember happy memories with the people who helped raise us. ✨

At Annecto, we believe everyone deserves to have a say in the decisions that impact their lives. That’s why we strive to invite the right people into the right conversations.

Collaboration and co-design are fundamental to the work that we do. We are committed to building a more inclusive society by engaging in continuous conversations with the people we support, their communities and our staff.

Making decisions alongside the people we support is a big part of how we tailor services to each customer.

We are excited to see how these efforts evolve as we integrate co-design into even more aspects of our work.

Before the Easter break, the Ballarat team put on a community BBQ which had a great turn out. The day was filled with lots of laughs, dress ups, colouring competitions, prizes and more!

Community BBQs are a great way to welcome the people we support, staff and the wider community to come together and connect. At Annecto, we value social engagement, community access and connecting people to what's important to them.

Whatever your goals are, we can support you to meet new people, join social groups, visit a local cafe or spend time with friends and family.

Here are some examples of how we may be able to support you in the community:

πŸ‘‰ Get one-on-one support for social activities to develop new skills and improve your independence.
πŸ‘‰ Join our social support groups where you can meet new people and experience new things in a welcoming environment.
πŸ‘‰ Go out in the community and get to your appointments with assisted access to public transport taxis, drivers and more.

Every year, on 25 April Australia recognises ANZAC Day (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps). On this day, we acknowledge everyone who has fought for and served their country, those who have fought overseas and those who have lost their lives. We acknowledge staff, the people we support and those in the Annecto community who have connections to ANZAC Day. 🧑

This is also an important time to acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service people, who are often forgotten. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have served in every war that Australia has participated in and have members currently serving in the defence force.

At Annecto, we acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service people and their contributions to this country's war efforts.

πŸ“… We encourage you to attend your local events that acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contributions.

➑️ Swipe to read more about the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service people and events happening in your area on 25 April.

On 2 April, the Annecto Kempsey team had a fantastic time at the 2025 Macleay Seniors Time to Shine Expo organised by .

This community event, brought people together for a fun day of live music, interactive workshops, and valuable information to support healthy ageing. It was a great chance to connect with the community and discover new resources that promote independent living for older people.

At Annecto, we support older people in Kempsey and surrounding areas to live independently at home for longer.
