Last month, a mum told me:
“We didn’t sleep for weeks waiting for funding. I had to call an ambulance twice because we couldn’t cope.”

It broke me a little, honestly.
Because this is why we exist.

So families don’t have to hit breaking point before someone shows up.
So Support Coordinators don’t spend half their life chasing providers who never call back.
So we can be the ones who quietly say:
“Yes, we can start this week.”
Even when no one else can.

I still remember the first time a planner told my family,
“Just be patient, the process takes time.”
Meanwhile my grandmother’s condition didn’t wait.
We were failed by slow providers, untrained workers, systems that weren’t ready for real life.
So we built it differently.

●Workers trained on MND & complex needs before day 1.
●Rosters planned to protect families from burnout.
●Intake in 48 hours when others take 6 weeks.

Not because it’s clever business — because it’s the care I wish we had.

Most people don’t know this, but Carismatic didn’t start with a business plan.

It started with my grandmother — and the moment we watched her fade into MND, while the system around us completely failed.
Calls that weren’t returned. Weeks with no updates. My mum crying because she couldn’t lift her anymore.

I still carry that. That’s why we train our carers before the first shift. Why we build rosters that last. Why we onboard in days, not months.

It’s not magic — it’s what we wish we had back then.
