Hello lovelies 👋

✨Hope you all had a great start to the New year✨

Not long now until baby #2 arrives! This pregnancy has been a-bit different to the first, having to close clinic earlier then I wanted was a little difficult but was definitely needed.

I’ll be returning from Maternity leave (hopefully) mid May/June 2023 to allow for rest, recovery and adjustment to new life with 2 😌

For now, take care and I look forward to announcing bubs arrival.

✨Let’s talk EFA’s (Essential Fatty Acids) ….

EFA’s are responsible for oil regulation, a deficiency can present as either oily or even dry skin, skin congestion, acne, cystic acne, eczema and dermatitis and will contribute to premature ageing! It will also show through brittle nails and dry hair.

Most people will be deficient in this without even knowing and EFA deficiencies are the most common cause of skin problems. 😲

✨What’s under the cosy pregnancy massage bed sheets?

Pillows and bolsters for a comfortable, safe and soothing SIDE-LYING (fetal) position🤰

This position offers a number of positive physical and psychological benefits for both mum and bub throughout all trimesters of pregnancy. It props the lower back muscles into a relaxed state and gently lengthens the spine, reducing the effects of lumbar pain whilst supporting the abdomen. It also reduces strain on uterine ligaments and prevents increase in sinus pressure.

So what does side-lying massage look like?

- The client will begin side lying placing their head on a firm pillow. This will keep head and neck in alignment.

- The client will then be given a small wedged shape pillow to put under the belly bump to support growing uterus and prevent twisting and straining of the uterine ligaments and lumbar spine.

- Next, a firm pillow will be placed between legs at a 90degree angle. This allows the pelvis to stay in alignment, reduces pressure on lumbar spine and provides legs with even blood flow.

- Finally, a small towel bolster will be placed under upper arm to support breast area and prevent rotation of the shoulders.

Pregnancy is always a full body massage with a focus on particular areas of discomfort.

Regularly taking this massage experience to enjoy some quality YOU time while connecting with baby through the breath and relaxation will help guide and support you through to labour and birth. 🤱

✨CAT/COW STRETCH✨

Or Chakravakasana is a yoga pose that helps improve posture and balance through pelvic tilting.

🤰During pregnancy, this pose helps relieve the weight of the baby off your back. It also keeps pelvic joints loose and is an excellent way to get your baby into the optimal birthing position.

- Carefully get down on all fours on a yoga mat. Slowly arch your back up and tilt your pelvis down, like an angry (cat). Hold for 5-10 seconds.

Then release and allow your belly to drop back down (cow) and hold for 5-10 seconds.

Continue this cat-cow flow as a rocking motion for 10-20 reps.

The benefits of using synchronised breath movements will also help you relax and ease some of the day's stress.
