My trip to the States was truly an enriching and wonderful experience. Returning to where I studied Postpartum Care and first started offering my services felt like a full-circle moment, and it warmed my heart.I had the pleasure of working consistently with one family over four weeks, providing multiple sessions. Seeing that they didn’t have to cook at all, and that the mother received plenty of bodywork, physical, and emotional care, allowed her to truly enjoy the time with her family and welcome their second child. It’s rare and special for families to have such a seamless transition when welcoming a new baby.
I also supported two other beautiful mothers, who shared how this type of care helped increase their breastmilk supply and feel more relaxed and present with their babies. It was a powerful reminder of the healing power of having nourishing food prepared and ready to eat.
On a personal note, I caught up with friends and family I hadn’t seen in over five years, making the trip deeply healing for me as well.
This experience reinforced to me how transformative support is throughout motherhood, both immediately after birth and ongoing. It also showed me how much I want the spaciousness to be able to fly regionally and internationally, doing what I love most – supporting growing families. Travel and new environments bring me clarity and inspiration, so over the next few months, I’ll be reevaluating how I structure things. Don’t worry, I’m not disappearing – just inviting in change.
