We love neuropositive communication and ideas. Have you checked out Neurodivergent Rebel’s posts and ideas before?

When I was first diagnosed Autistic about eight years ago now, I had a realization that all the parts of myself that I'd been ashamed of, the stuff about myself that I thought nobody in the world could understand (and that I should hide) were related to my NeuroDivergence, and that the false "socially-acceptable" self I had tried to create (when I didn't understand my own brain) was basically a NeuroTypical emulation of an out of reach ideal I will never be (and don't want to).

While I may not have had the language to articulate my experiences for most of my life, my entire life has been and always will be viewed through a NeuroDivergent lens, a perspective that shapes every aspect of my being.

Even if I learn to disguise how my mind and nervous system operate (at the expense of my comfort, health, and well-being), my Autistic and ADHD brain isn't going away.

I was born with multiple lifelong neurodevelopmental differences, and these have always been (and will always be) a part of me - for better and for worse.

For me, it is better to accept myself and learn to love the parts of me others have tried very hard to make me feel ashamed about.

This self-acceptance is not just empowering, it's a refusal to tone myself down for the comfort of others and a commitment to standing up and speaking out about my needs, even when doing so is scary.

We’ve seen a fair bit of misinformation posted online about what is no longer covered under the new NDIS rules. This post is not one of them.

Equine Reflections Therapy Victoria’s services can be claimed from the NDIS (more information below on specifics) as their wonderful practitioner is an accredited counsellor who uses their equine knowledge and training in counselling sessions, so they aren’t unqualified “animal therapists”.

In addition to their professional skills and expertise, their sessions (when we last checked), are very reasonably priced, and can be claimed against Core funding, and Capacity Building if you have allied and other health practitioner funding.

To clear up any possible concerns about any conflict of interest, we only recommend any providers and supports based on personal experience, or recommendations of people we trust, and never receive any sort of payment or quid pro quo for doing so. We recommend great providers and supports because we want the best providers and support accessible by our community.

If you’d like some advice on your plan and available supports, such as how to get the most out of your funding for your specific needs and goals, or need guidance with an application, internal review, or an AAT appeal, you can book a free 15 minute chat with an NDIS Wrangler via www.ndiswranglers.com.au/bookings

We’re here for you because we’ve been there.

YES - Equine Reflections are ACA Counsellors! Our Services are Still Accessible Under the NDIS!

Equine Reflections Practitioners are proud members of the Australian Counselling Association, meeting a key requirement for accessing counseling services through the NDIS. We ensure that clients receive high-quality counseling, and we do not anticipate any concerns regarding the ongoing utilization of our services for NDIS clients.

If you are considering other organizations, please always inquire about their qualifications to ensure you receive the best care possible!

Please share this with others who may be looking or concerned about current access or future access to Equine Therapy!
