Here are some additional updates regarding the preparations. We needed to dig down and construct platforms to support the 50-tonne piling rig, enabling it to drill effectively.

The piling rig is drilling down to a depth of 12 meters. When the auger reaches the desired depth, it pumps concrete under pressure as it is pulled out. Afterward, reinforced steel cages are placed into the holes to ensure stability for the future wall along the boundary fencing.

Project Update: IGA Development in Warburton

We are pleased to share an update on the IGA development in Warburton. Below are some before photos showcasing the area prior/ and to our demolition work on the abandoned shop and house.

Additionally, we have included some progress shots taken before the piling rig commenced drilling.

It was incredible to stand at the site of the new Warburton IGA Plus Liquor alongside Roger from One Call Contracting, Warburton IGA Grocery Manager Sam, Cr Jim Child and Cindy McLeish MP as site works officially begin for the new store.

Warburton IGA is always giving back to our community - employing over 25 locals - and owner Shane has been working towards this new store to service the Upper Yarra community for over 15 years.

This upgrade will be an asset to our region that provides locals with the opportunity to live and shop locally, while also opening up new local jobs.

2 large storm damaged / fallen cypress trees that had fallen across 2 houses
No crane access. Just a 21t excavator
