In Pilates, we often hear things like:
“Am I doing this right?”
“Everyone else looks more flexible than me.”
“I can’t hold the pose exactly like that.”

Who is Julie Wise 🤗 - From Teaching to Transforming Lives – Her Journey in Myotherapy & Pilates 🌟

Hi, I’m Julie Wise, and for over two decades, I’ve been passionate about helping people move better, feel stronger, and live pain-free.
My journey started back in the early 2000s when I lectured at Victorian Village of Healthcare Education. Those years of teaching deepened my understanding of the human body, movement, and rehabilitation, fueling my desire to work hands-on with clients.

That passion led me to build Health & Fitness Wise, where I combine Myotherapy, Pilates, and movement therapy to help women improve posture, reduce pain, and regain confidence in their bodies.

I’ve worked with hundreds of clients over the years, seeing firsthand how the right treatment, movement, and mindset can be life-changing.

I believe in personalized care, expert knowledge, and a supportive environment—because your health isn’t just about fitness; it’s about feeling your best every day. 💛

💛 3 Core-Strengthening Pilates Exercises to Do at Home! 💛

A strong core is the foundation of good posture, balance, and overall strength! 🏡💪

Here are 3 classic Pilates exercises you can do at home to build core stability and strength. Plus, we’ve included regressions if you’re just starting out!

🔹 1. The Plank 🔹
✔️ Strengthens your core, shoulders, and back
✔️ Improves posture and stability

✨ How to do it: Start in a forearm plank, elbows under shoulders, core engaged, and body in a straight line. Hold for 20-30 seconds.
🔻 Regression: Drop your knees to the mat while maintaining a straight line from head to knees.

🔹 2. The Hundred 🔹
✔️ Builds endurance and deep core strength
✔️ Improves breathing control

✨ How to do it: Lie on your back, lift your legs to tabletop (or extend them for a challenge), curl your head and shoulders up, and pump your arms up and down while breathing in for 5 counts and out for 5 counts (aim for 100 beats).
🔻 Regression: Keep your feet on the floor and only lift your head and shoulders slightly.

🔹 3. Single-Leg Stretch 🔹
✔️ Engages the deep core muscles
✔️ Improves coordination and flexibility

✨ How to do it: Lie on your back, lift your head and shoulders, pull one knee toward your chest while extending the other leg long, then switch legs in a controlled motion.
🔻 Regression: Keep your head down on the mat and focus on slow, controlled leg movements.

💛 Start slow, focus on control, and listen to your body! Always prioritize quality over quantity in Pilates.
