“The progress report caught you off guard.”

If reading has started to feel stressful - for you or your child - you’re not alone.

Reading isn’t a natural skill - it requires explicit, systematic instruction.

In our Sounds-Write group, we explicitly teach children how to:

🌀 Map sounds to letters step by step
🌀 Blend and segment confidently
🌀 Build decoding accuracy
🌀 Strengthen reading foundations

All within a structured, supportive group setting.

You can learn more about Sounds-Write on our Group Therapy page on our website.

Registrations are now open for our upcoming school holiday group programs.

If getting the story out of your child feels harder than it should, you’re not alone.

Storytelling is a skill — and like any skill, it can be explicitly taught.

In our Story Champs group, we explicitly teach children how to:

🌀 Organise events into a clear structure
🌀 Build longer sentences using connecting words
🌀 Expand vocabulary
🌀 Strengthen comprehension

All within a small, supportive group setting.

If this sounds familiar, you can learn more about Story Champs on our Groups Therapy page on our website.

Registrations are now open for our upcoming school holiday group programs.

What a year it has been 🐝✨

2025 was filled with meaningful connections, big little wins and so many proud moments alongside the children and families we support.

From therapy sessions and school collaborations to celebrating progress both in and out of the clinic - every step mattered.

We’re incredibly grateful to our Babble Bees families, educators and fellow practitioners for your trust, collaboration and support throughout the year.

It truly takes a village, and we’re so lucky to be part of yours.

As we step into 2026, we’re excited to keep growing, learning and supporting confident communication together 💛

We’re now welcoming new clients and have immediate availability for children ready to start their communication journey.

Here’s to another year of buzzing progress,

The Babble Bees Team 🐝

You’ve probably heard “boys talk later, so don’t worry” – but that’s not the whole story.

Yes, on average girls often reach some language milestones a bit earlier. But what matters most is whether your child (boy or girl) is sitting within the expected range and making steady progress – not just their gender.

If your little one seems quite delayed (very few words, not copying sounds, not pointing/gesturing much, struggling to follow simple instructions), it’s always okay to ask for support. You’re not overreacting – you’re advocating. 💛

Save this post to come back to, and swipe through to see:

Curious about your child’s milestones? Check the Speech Pathology Australia milestones, chat with your GP/child health nurse, or reach out to a Speech Pathologist if you’re unsure.

If you saw this and thought, “That’s me,” - this one’s for you.

For the ADHDers who’ve spent years building systems, over-explaining, trying to seem “on top of it”… even when your brain was running on empty.

You were never lazy. Never broken. Just trying to keep up in a world that wasn’t built for your wiring.

This month isn’t just about awareness - it’s about recognition.

Of the effort, the heart, and the resilience it takes to keep showing up.

We see you 💛

You’ve been working overtime to belong - and you deserve spaces where you can simply be.

This AAC Awareness Month, we’re celebrating Innovation, Inclusion, and Advocacy.

AAC isn’t “extra” - it’s a voice. And in classrooms, that means:

💡 Innovative use of tech,

🤝 Inclusive participation,

📣 Advocacy for every student’s right to communicate.

When schools model AAC, keep devices available, and empower students to use their voices - everyone wins.

🧡 Save & share if you believe every voice matters.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month.

Some kids get “stuck” in spelling or reading - not from laziness, but because their brains map sounds to letters differently.

With early, explicit phonics, multisensory practice, and smart tools (like text-to-speech and spell check), progress is possible and confidence grows.

If your child guesses words, avoids reading, or tires quickly, you’re not alone - and there’s a path forward.

💙

Save to revisit and share to help another family.
