Today, Dwight was back on the road with Amanda from the Queensland Tourism Industry Council - QTIC, continuing the 3-yearly site inspections for camps holding the QTF Camps and Adventure Activities Accreditation.

We were pleased to visit Kokoda Outdoor Education /Camp Kokoda, operated by the Kokoda Youth Foundation - and members of the Australian Camps Association.

A big thank you to Craig, Maintenance Manager, and Declan, Manager of Outdoor Education, for their time and support throughout the assessment. The site tour was expertly conducted with the enthusiastic assistance of their Camp wonder dog 🐾 — who made sure we didn’t miss a thing!

This visit, he’s also supporting Amanda and Pallavi from the Queensland Tourism Industry Council - QTIC as they undertake 3-yearly site inspection visits, for camps holding the QTF Camps and Adventure Activities Accreditation.

Yesterday's visit was to The Great Aussie Bush Camp - Kindilan. A big thank-you to Simon for taking the time to meet with us and complete the assessment.

The success of your conference, workshop, camp or weekend away is heavily dependent on the site you choose. You need to select it with care and ensure it matches your needs. These questions will help you to make the appropriate choice.

A key resource at the planning stage is the camp operator - they’ll be happy to discuss your group’s requirements and how the camp may be best utilised. Plan to meet the manager well ahead of your camp so adequate arrangements can be made. A visit to the site well before the camp and preferably before making a final booking will ensure things go smoothly.
