📅 The Four Phases of Your Menstrual Cycle: GET TO KNOW YOUR BODY! 🌸🫶🏾

Your menstrual cycle isn’t just about your period🩸—it’s a dynamic cycle of hormonal shifts that impact your energy, mood, and overall well-being. Understanding these changes can help you tune into your body’s natural rhythms. 🌿✨

🩸 Menstrual Phase (Days 1-5)
This is when your period starts. Your uterine lining sheds, estrogen and progesterone are at their lowest, and you may feel more tired. Prioritize rest, hydration, and gentle movement like stretching or walking.

🌱 Follicular Phase (Days 6-14)
Estrogen rises, stimulating the growth of a new egg. You may notice a boost in energy, focus, and mood—making it a great time for creativity and productivity!

💥 Ovulation Phase (Around Day 14-16)
Your body releases an egg, and estrogen peaks. You may feel most confident, social, and energetic. It’s also when you’re most fertile! Look out for clear, stretchy cervical mucus—a sign of ovulation.

🌙 Luteal Phase (Days 17-28)
Progesterone increases to prepare for a potential pregnancy. You might experience PMS symptoms like bloating, mood swings, or fatigue. Focus on self-care, balanced meals, and stress management.

✨ KNOW YOUR CYCLE!✨
Tracking your cycle can help you better understand your body and work with it, not against it.

🩸💩PERIOD POOS 💩🩸

You’re not the only one sis, they are definitely a thing...

In the lead up and during your period you may notice changes in your poo. This is due to chemicals (eg- prostoglandins) and hormones (eg- progesterone) throughout your cycle.

You may experience changes in:
〰️ poo type
〰️ consistency
〰️ frequency
〰️ smell

While these changes are NORMAL there are still things you can keep in mind in the lead up and during your period to help.

Hello 👋🏾

It’s been a very long time since I have introduced myself to all the new faces here ☺️

About me:
I am Aula/علا (pronounced- ooooh la) a Melbourne based Women’s & Pelvic Physiotherapist. I am an Eritrean 🇪🇷 born and raised in Melbourne. I am passionate about empowering women through education and movement 🤸🏾‍♀️

As someone who is very private and very uncomfortable posting online I started this page anonymously to educate women in my community. But as a result of taking that leap in 2019 I have been so privileged to become connected to so many amazing women 💕 and have had this platform open up opportunities for me I never expected. I am so grateful to every one that stuck around 💛Even with my inconsistent posting and the periods of time I have disappeared 🌻

Thank you 🙏🏿 💜

5 facts about me:
♓️ I am a pisces
🌊 I love the ocean
🍫 I will always choose white chocolate
🏡 I am a homebody, but love an adventure
🦅 I have a phobia of magpies (who in Melbourne doesn’t?!)

⭐️𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐘⭐️

Are you wearing compression? Prenatal medical grade compression can provide extra supports to the tummy, pelvis and perineum. This is different from standard compression or pregnancy tights which may only provide some support to your tummy.

Wearing medical grade compression in pregnancy from 24 weeks onwards can help:

⭐️ to relax your pelvic floor

⭐️ manage lower back and pelvic girdle pain

⭐️ help with round ligament pain

⭐️ provide support for abdominals separation

⭐️ help with abdominal relaxation to prepare for pushing in labour
