DID YOU KNOW YOUR PELVIC PHYSIO CAN HELP WITH PERIOD PAIN 🩸

You don’t need to go through period pain alone. Next time your period pain hits reach for your support water bottle or your friendly heat pack.

1️⃣ Heat is great way to help ease muscle tension and reduce pain. Consider placing your heat pack on your tummy or lying with your heat pack over your pelvic floor muscles.

2️⃣ Keep hydated 💧 Fluid help with regulating hormonal changes and reduces muscle cramps and bloating.

3️⃣ Increase your fibre intake 🥝 Fibre can help with the dreaded period poo!

4️⃣ Use a Tens Machine. Tens machines work by providing an electrical stimulus to help distract your body from pain ⚡️

5️⃣ Gentle movement can help with releasing tension in your pelvic floor. Try some yoga stretches or going for a walk

6️⃣ Massage is a great way to help relieve tension in your lower back, tummy or pelvic floor. Consider using a massage ball or talk your pelvic physio about using a pelvic wand 🪄to release your pelvic floor.

📅 The Four Phases of Your Menstrual Cycle: GET TO KNOW YOUR BODY! 🌸🫶🏾

Your menstrual cycle isn’t just about your period🩸—it’s a dynamic cycle of hormonal shifts that impact your energy, mood, and overall well-being. Understanding these changes can help you tune into your body’s natural rhythms. 🌿✨

🩸 Menstrual Phase (Days 1-5)
This is when your period starts. Your uterine lining sheds, estrogen and progesterone are at their lowest, and you may feel more tired. Prioritize rest, hydration, and gentle movement like stretching or walking.

🌱 Follicular Phase (Days 6-14)
Estrogen rises, stimulating the growth of a new egg. You may notice a boost in energy, focus, and mood—making it a great time for creativity and productivity!

💥 Ovulation Phase (Around Day 14-16)
Your body releases an egg, and estrogen peaks. You may feel most confident, social, and energetic. It’s also when you’re most fertile! Look out for clear, stretchy cervical mucus—a sign of ovulation.

🌙 Luteal Phase (Days 17-28)
Progesterone increases to prepare for a potential pregnancy. You might experience PMS symptoms like bloating, mood swings, or fatigue. Focus on self-care, balanced meals, and stress management.

✨ KNOW YOUR CYCLE!✨
Tracking your cycle can help you better understand your body and work with it, not against it.
