You might think speech pathology is only for children who need help saying sounds clearly. It can be that, but it can also be much more.

MTHC Speech Pathology supports people with communication, feeding and swallowing across the lifespan.

That can include:

• being understood
• finding words
• understanding others
• reading and writing
• stuttering
• voice changes
• communication without speaking
• feeding and swallowing.

If something is getting in the way of everyday life, school, work, mealtimes or connection, it is worth taking the next step.

We can help you make sense of what you are seeing and find the right support.

Getting out the door in time for school. Moving from play to homework. Settling after a busy day. For some children, these transition moments are really challenging.

Occupational therapy can help identify what’s making transitions tough, whether it’s sensory processing, fatigue, routine changes or something else, and find practical strategies that make those moments easier to move through.

If transitions are regularly getting in the way of your child’s day at home or at school, it’s worth taking the next step.

Reach out to our team and we’ll help you understand what's going on and what to do next.

Ready to join our small group social capacity program for young gamers?

If your child loves gaming and finds socialising in person confusing and exhausting, Next Level Collaboration is a neurodiversity-affirming social capacity building program made just for them.

Across 8 weekly sessions, small groups use fun cooperative video games to build confidence, teamwork and social skills.

Each week, participants learn a skill, practise it through gameplay and reflect on how they used it.

Because learning happens through play, skills are easier to remember and use in everyday life.

• For children aged 8–15 who love video games and find social situations harder
• Small groups, maximum 6 participants
• 8 weekly sessions, 90 minutes each
• 4:00–5:30pm, Level 1/723 Swanston St, Carlton
• $99 per session, NDIS, Medicare and private options available
• Co-designed with the neurodivergent community
• Run in partnership with Next Level Collaboration, through MTHC: Speech Pathology

On IDAHOBIT, we acknowledge the barriers LGBTQIA+ people still face when expressing who they are.

For our team, inclusive communication is part of how we work. Our role is to help create inclusive spaces where people can speak as themselves, be recognised as themselves and feel safe doing it.

And for anyone exploring gender-affirming voice support, our team has deep expertise in voice care for transfeminine, transmasculine and nonbinary people.

If that's something you've been thinking about, we're here.

You know your child. You notice when something is consistently hard for them and it’s getting in the way of everyday life. Trusting that instinct is the right first move.

What you might have noticed.

• Classroom routines or transitions are challenging
• Sensitivity to noise, movement or clothes affects their day
• Regulating emotions gets tricky in busy environments
• Connecting with friends or feeling safe in new situations is hard
• Writing, using scissors or getting dressed feels tiring
• Balance and coordination take a lot of effort
• Eating, toileting or sleep need a lot of help

The goal isn't to change who a child is. It's to help them take part in the things that matter to them.

What OT can help with.

Occupational therapy supports children across five key areas:

1. Everyday self-care and routines
2. School participation and learning
3. Sensory processing and regulation
4. Social engagement and play
5. Fine and gross motor development

We work with children from birth to 18, using their strengths and interests as the starting point.

Like the child who wanted to be a pilot, so instead of worksheets we practised handwriting with a cockpit checklist and a life-sized dashboard drawn on the whiteboard.

If your child is finding parts of daily life difficult or upsetting, take the next step and contact us. No referral needed, call or fill in our online enquiry form and we'll help guide you from there.

Is your child looking for a space where they can have fun and connect with others while doing what they love?

Next Level Collaboration is a neurodiversity-affirming social capacity building program for young people aged 8-15.

It might be right for your child if they:

• connect easily online and find face-to-face harder
• want friendships and find group situations confusing and exhausting
• is confident inside a game and less so in the playground or classroom
• would like to meet other young gamers.

Sessions combine guided teaching, gameplay and reflection in a setting they want to be in, so skills can move from the group into everyday life.

Does your child love gaming and find social situations harder to navigate? 🎮

Next Level Collaboration helps young people aged 8–15 build confidence, teamwork and social connection through something they already enjoy.

🌱 Confidence grows when they can practise new skills in a setting that feels natural and motivating
🤝 Teamwork grows through cooperative games where players work together towards a shared goal
💬 Friendship grows in a welcoming space where kids can build belonging and lasting social connections with other gamers

Each week, participants learn a social or teamwork skill, practise it through cooperative gameplay and reflect on how they used it.

That process of learning, doing and reflecting is what helps those skills move beyond the session and into the rest of their life 🔄

The program is neurodiversity-affirming and celebrates their strengths 🌈 It’s designed so every young person can show up as themselves.

If this sounds right for your child, express your interest and we'll be in touch with dates and details.
