Hatching Chick Project 🐣

What an exciting couple of weeks we have had at Hippity Hop! 🐣

The children were lucky enough to take part in our Hatching Chickens Project, where they watched eggs slowly hatch into fluffy little chicks. The children were full of excitement, curiosity and lots of questions as they observed the chicks each day.

A beautiful hands-on learning experience about life cycles and caring for living things.

🍎🥧 From Orchard to Oven! 🥧🍎

After our wonderful excursion to the Apteds orchard on Tuesday, the children had the chance to turn their freshly picked apples into delicious homemade apple pies on Wednesday afternoon!

The children helped wash, peel and prepare the apples before adding them to the pies. It was a fantastic hands-on experience where they explored cooking, teamwork and where our food comes from.

The smell was amazing while the pies were baking, and of course the best part was tasting the finished pies together!

What a lovely way to continue the learning from our orchard visit 🍏🍎

🍎 Kinder Excursion to the Apted Orchard 🍐

Today our 4-year-old Kinder children enjoyed a wonderful excursion to our local apple\ pear orchard! The children had the opportunity to explore the orchard, learn about how fruit grows, and pick their own apples and pears straight from the trees.

There was lots of excitement as the children carefully selected their fruit and placed it into their bags to take home and share with their families. Experiences like this help children connect with nature, learn where food comes from, and create special memories with their friends.

A big thank you to Apted's Orchards for welcoming us and providing such a lovely experience for our Kinder group! 🌳🍏

🎒Our 3yr old Kinder Kits Have Arrived! 🎒

We are so excited to share that our Kinder Kits are here and ready to go!

These colourful kits are packed with fun, engaging resources to support children’s learning, creativity and school readiness. From hands-on activities to imaginative play, there’s so much for our little learners to explore.

We can’t wait to see the smiles as the children dive into their special kits and begin this exciting journey towards kindergarten! 💙💛

🌸 Share the Dignity-Period Product Drive 🌸

Hippity Hop is proud to be supporting Share the Dignity by collecting essential period products for women and girls in need.

We are inviting our families to donate:
🩸 Pads
🩸 Tampons
🩸 Period underwear

(All items must be unopened and in original packaging.)

These essential items are something many of us take for granted, but for some women and girls, they are a luxury they simply cannot afford. Your donation can help provide dignity, comfort and support to someone doing it tough.

📦 Donations can be placed in the collection box located at near the fish tank until the end of March

🎈❤️ National Red Balloon Day ❤️🎈Yarrambat Fire Brigade

Today we proudly celebrated National Red Balloon Day, a special day to say thank you to our incredible local CFA volunteers who give so much to keep our community safe. 🚒🔥

We were honoured to invite our local CFA brigade to join us for morning tea yesterday with some of the children. The children loved meeting our real-life heroes, asking questions, and learning about fire safety in such a fun and engaging way.

Thank you to our amazing CFA volunteers for the time you give, the courage you show, and the care you have for our community. We are so grateful for everything you do ❤️

We love supporting healthy growing bodies with wholesome meals that are both nourishing and tasty. It was wonderful to see so many happy faces enjoying their lunch today 😄 !

Yesterday , we headed to Yarrambat Fire Brigade to celebrate the opening of their new turn out room!

It was also a day to celebrate the brigade’s achievements over their 25 years within the current station.

🐍🧧HAPPY LUNA NEW YEAR! 🧧🐍

Today at the centre , the children enjoyed celebrating Lunar New Year with a special “Lucky Lunch.” The children explored cultural traditions, colours, and symbols of good fortune while sharing a delicious meal together.

Celebrating cultural events helps children learn about diversity, traditions, and the world around them. It was wonderful to see their excitement and curiosity throughout the day.

: A range of children's sand products, sold nationally at Officeworks, Educating Kids, Modern Teaching Aids and Zart Art between 2020 and 2025, have been recalled due to asbestos fears.

The recall was issued by supplier Educational Colours for three products labelled as Kadink Sand (1.3kg), Educational Colours - Rainbow Sand (1.3kg), and Creatistics - Coloured Sand (1kg).
