Let’s talk… face to face 💬
At Bright Start, we believe real conversations build real connections. Screens are a part of life, but there’s nothing better than face-to-face moments, so when you can…

📵 Put the screens down
💬 Start real conversations
🤗 And watch their confidence grow

Speech and language development begins with everyday moments, such as laughing, reading, playing, and simply talking together.

Email us to inquire about a session and how we help little voices find their way.

*New* National Guidelines for FASD have just been released! Australia has launched its first-ever national clinical guidelines for the assessment and diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), a condition that can significantly impact speech, language, learning, and social development.

🧩 Developed after 4 years of research by the University of Queensland and endorsed by the NHMRC, these guidelines are a game-changer for early support and intervention.

💬 At Bright Start, we know that early identification and tailored communication support can make a lifelong difference for kids with FASD.

📆 Save the Date: A special webinar featuring Dr Natasha Reid from UQ’s Child Health Research Centre will be held on Wednesday, 25 June, 10:00 - 11:30 am, to break down what the new guidelines mean for practitioners, families, and community services.

May is Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) Awareness Month.

ARFID is characterised by food avoidance or restriction due to low appetite/food apathy, sensory sensitivity or fear of undesired consequences. It is a serious eating disorder that can lead to nutritional deficiencies, weight loss, and emotional distress, and it often starts in childhood. It can stem from sensory sensitivities, fear of choking or vomiting, or a lack of interest in food altogether.

It deserves to be recognised, understood, and treated with care. 💚

This May, let’s break the stigma, raise awareness, and advocate for early support and intervention.

Every bite matters. Every story counts. 💬
