Our collective experience includes: language impairment, speech and phonological disorders, literacy based learning difficulties (dyslexia), voice disorders, social and pragmatic disorders, stuttering and accent modification. We work in a range of settings including preschool, primary and secondary schools. As well as providing services to external locations, we run a family friendly clinic in the eastern suburb of Mitcham in Melbourne. Professor Christopher Blyth and Professor Andrew Whitehouse headed into the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) office on Monday after news broke of US President Donald Trump’s suggestion of a link between pregnant women taking paracetamol and autism in children.

Chatting to Dr Norman Swan for Radio National’s Health Report, Professor Whitehouse discussed the evidence-based research around paracetamol, Leucovorin and autism, while Professor Blyth addressed Trump's comments suggesting combination like the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine could be part of the problem.

At Word By Mouth, we provide management for not only Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) but beyond the speech intervention of CAS to assist students with their literacy and language needs.

One in four children starting school now has a speech or language delay. It can hold back their learning, affect their friendships and harm their mental health. Speech therapists are struggling to find ways to support them all, but one school is leading the way.

Tristan looks forward to contributing his knowledge of private practice, funding models and the latest scientific evidence on paediatric speech pathology managememt to the Ethics Board.
