5 Ways to Ground Yourself

- Take a slow breath in and a long breath out. Longer exhales help calm your nervous system.

- Notice 5 things around you: colours, shapes, temperatures, textures.

- Put your feet flat on the floor and feel the weight of your body supported.

- Hold something with texture: a blanket, a stone, a cup, and really focus on how it feels.

- Name what’s happening: “I’m feeling overwhelmed right now, and that’s okay. It will pass.”

She’s a Registered Psychologist who brings a whole lot of warmth, authenticity, and down-to-earth support into her sessions.

Caitlin works with kids, teens, and adults navigating neurodivergence, trauma, stress, burnout, identity, and everyday life struggles. She’s big on creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are and make sense of your patterns in a way that actually fits your life.

She works Fridays via Telehealth and Saturdays in the clinic, and you can request to see her directly through our website.

Recovering from burnout takes time, and small steps make the biggest difference. Give yourself permission to rest, slow down, and do less. Start with what feels manageable, short breaks, better sleep, gentle routines, and things that genuinely soothe you.
Support helps too. You don’t have to rebuild your energy alone. Therapy can give you space to understand what led to burnout and find healthier ways forward.

Journaling is one of those simple tools that can make a big difference for your mental health. It helps clear your head, process feelings, and notice patterns you might otherwise miss. And the best part? There’s no “right” way to do it.

If you’re not sure where to start, try:
🖊️ Writing down three things you’re grateful for each day.
🖊️ Doing a quick “brain dump” of everything on your mind before bed.
🖊️ Checking in with yourself: How am I feeling? What do I need today?
🖊️ Setting a timer for 5 minutes and writing whatever comes out

Give it a go and see if this is what you have been missing in your daily routine!
