All tissue planes in the face are affected by ageing. In large part, our perceived age is determined more by the shape of our face and less by the wrinkles. ( think about how you can guess someone’s age from a distance when you can’t see any wrinkles at all). A large part of this face shape change is due to changes and shrinking of the fat layer. This can lead to a tired look, sagging, the start of jowl formation and a more square as opposed to oval shape to the face. Do you ever stand in front of the mirror pushing back the skin in front of your ears thinking that’s all I need..?! New products on the market now allow us to help regenerate this fat layer rather than simply fill it. Consultation allow us to provide more information ❤️

You learn a lot about what you know teaching others. Being a dinosaur in the industry means I’ve seen a lot 🤪 and often our understanding of products and procedures is retrospective. Aesthetics has developed rapidly and become increasingly sophisticated. Bioremodelling, biohacking, collagen stimulation, fat regeneration, skin rejuvenation are terms describing where we are at now. Our desire to live long and live well means we need a face to match! Often it is just about slowing down the ageing process rather than augmentation.

Why trying to achieve symmetry is overrated. Significant asymmetries such as a palsy, eye squint or large birthmark can affect appearance, however the natural asymmetries we all have actually add interest to our faces and make us memorable. Even very attractive faces that we might assume are symmetrical actually aren’t as evidenced by these celebrities when their right and left sides are mirrored. Thoughts?
