You know your loved one better than anyone.

So when little things start to change… you notice.

Maybe the house isn’t as tidy as it once was. Meals are skipped. The garden feels too hard to manage. There might be unopened mail, missed medications, more frequent falls, or a quiet withdrawal from social activities they once enjoyed.

These signs can feel worrying. But they can also be the moment you step in with the right support.

The new Support at Home program is designed to help older Australians stay independent, safe and connected in the place they love most — their home. Support can include help with everyday tasks, nursing care, allied health, equipment and home modifications, all tailored to individual needs.

Putting support in place early can make all the difference. It’s not about taking over - it’s about protecting independence and dignity.

If you’re starting to notice changes, we’re here to help you understand the next steps.

Reach out to Accent Home Care to discover how to get started with Support at Home. You don’t have to navigate this alone. 💚

Today we celebrate the incredible women who shape our community. 💜

Across Tabulam and Templer Homes for the Aged and Accent Home Care, women make up a large part of the caring workforce - bringing compassion, strength, wisdom and dedication to the lives of older people every single day.

From our team members and volunteers, to our residents, board members and community - these women contribute so much to the wellbeing of others and to the spirit of our organisation.

We are also grateful for the many supportive men in our community who work alongside them, helping create a culture of respect, teamwork and care.

On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who lead, nurture, support and inspire - and the community that stands with them.

Here are just some of the many incredible women who make TTHA and Accent Home Care such a special place.

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome the wonderful and talented Activities Organisers from Bunnings Warehouse Bayswater, Sharyn and Trish, who hosted a fun pot painting and planting session on our TTHA Sarona balcony with our enthusiastic residents. 🌿🎨🌱

With plenty of colour, creativity and green thumbs at work, our residents brought their ideas to life and created beautiful pots now proudly displayed on their balcony spaces.

Thank you Bunnings Bayswater for sharing your time, creativity and community spirit with us! Bunnings Warehouse Australia 💚

Meet Monika 💚

Monika Beck has been part of the Accent Home Care team since 2016 and has spent more than nine years working in home care. As a Care Partner, Monika supports clients and their families to get the very best from their Home Care Package or Support at Home services. She knows the aged care system well and has a calm, reassuring way of helping people make sense of it.

Before moving into aged care, Monika worked in a range of people-focused roles. She studied social and behavioural sciences, worked as a personal assistant in a specialist medical company, and later spent time in real estate. Helping people navigate complex situations has always come naturally to her.

Monika has a Polish background and speaks Polish, Russian, Slovak and English. This shared language and cultural understanding means a great deal to many of her clients. Some have been with her since 2017, and she often says these relationships feel more like family or close friendships.

Over the years, Monika has seen aged care become more complex, with more paperwork and rules to navigate. She understands how frustrating this can be for clients and families, and she takes the time to explain what support is available and how to get the most from it.

What drives Monika is helping people remain independent and live well at home. She prepares thoroughly, advocates strongly for her clients and always looks for ways to improve their quality of life. The many kind words and testimonials she receives reflect the care she brings to every relationship.

Outside of work, Monika is sociable and full of energy. She proudly calls herself a shopaholic, loves dancing, catching up with friends and travelling whenever she can, with Thailand currently a favourite. She is also a proud mum to two sons.

With experience, honesty and a big heart, Monika is a trusted guide for clients and families alike. We’re proud to have her as part of the Accent Home Care team 💚

A hidden gem by the water ✨

Our Social Support Group guided outing took us to Martha Cove, where we enjoyed coffee overlooking the marina and soaked up the sunshine. For those feeling adventurous, there was even a gentle boardwalk stroll down to the beach.

We rounded out the day with a relaxed lunch - good food, great company, and time spent together at an easy pace.
