Enjoy Lottie's account of a recent outing to the Dandenong Ranges on an Accent Home Care outing:
"The beautiful Dandenong Ranges were the destination for our Social Support Group today. A stop at the RJ Hamer Arboretum Lookout was something to enjoy first thing in the morning. The views from there are quite spectacular.
We are always looking forward to having morning tea in the Season Cafe of Cloudehill Garden because everybody loves their delicious cakes or toasties. A browse through the nursery is always very interesting.
In the Dandenong Ranges National Park we hopped on the little bus to be driven through the absolutely beautiful plantations of rhododendrons, azaleas, proteas, connifers, magnolias, cherry trees, camellias and other shrubs and tree. Our guide Rachel gave a very interesting and informative commentary. Staff is very scarce and they depend on the much appreciated help from volunteers.
The strong wind which seemed to come straight from the Antarctic had cooled us down a fair bit in the open vehicle, so we really appreciated the warmth and cosiness of the Mount Dandenong Hotel where we enjoyed hearty senior meals.
We enjoy all the outings week after week and say a heartfelt Thank You to our lovely carers, Ulli and Kerstin, for taking such good care of us and for organising all those varying destinations."
