The Metro Munk

The Metro Munk Welcome to Metro Munk, where you approach mental health from a fresh perspective.

Here you will learn self-healing techniques that address suppressed and disowned aspects of your being, improving your relationship with yourself and others. I teach you how to work with your inner child and make the unconscious conscious. I have spent over 25 years exploring various healing modalities to uncover and heal my own unconscious parts. I emphasise the importance of self-healing by recognising and integrating suppressed emotions and disowned parts of ourselves, known as the Shadow Self. I believe that while expert advice is valuable, our bodies inherently know how to heal if we allow them to. I also offer personalised guidance through one-on-one sessions to help individuals transform their relationships with themselves and others.

I spent years trying to control my thoughts.
Nothing changed until I learned how to feel my emotions.

Shadow work isn’t about courage.
It’s about exhaustion. When you’re tired of the story you’re living, you finally turn toward the one you’re carrying.

Your emotions are like sunglasses for your soul.
They tint everything you see —
your relationships, your decisions, your reactions, your reality.

When you’re anxious, the world looks threatening.
When you’re hurt, everyone feels unsafe.
When you’re angry, every word sounds sharper.
When you’re ashamed, even kindness feels like judgement.

Emotions aren’t facts,
but they colour your entire world until you learn to feel them instead of fuse with them.

For years I thought healing meant deleting the parts of me I had abandoned.
The messy parts.
The scared parts.
The angry, needy, forgotten versions of me.

I thought healing meant “fixing” myself —
becoming someone new, someone better, someone untouched by the past.

But the truth is…
healing isn’t deletion.
It’s reclamation.

It’s feeling the parts you exiled so deeply
that they can finally come back home.

The moment I stopped fighting my pain
and started feeling it,
those abandoned pieces stopped haunting me
and started integrating.

This short is your reminder that the parts of you you’re ashamed of
aren’t your flaws
they’re your missing family.

You don’t heal by becoming someone else.
You heal by becoming whole.

Trauma doesn’t disappear.
It doesn’t politely fade because you “moved on.”
It just relocates into your body, your relationships, your reactions, your silence, your coping, your patterns.

Every unprocessed emotion becomes muscle memory.
Every unfinished story becomes a trigger.
Every avoided truth becomes a behavior you can’t explain.

This short is a reminder:
You’re not broken you’re carrying something your mind survived but your body never got to release.

If you’ve been wondering why you shut down, overreact, numb out, lose your voice, or keep repeating the same cycles… this is why.

Healing isn’t about forgetting the past
it’s about freeing the body from what it never got to finish.

Your body has been telling you the truth long before your mind was ready to hear it.
The tightness. The exhaustion. The “random” anxiety.
None of it is random. None of it is accidental.
Your body remembers every moment you tried to forget — every boundary you swallowed, every feeling you talked yourself out of, every version of you that had to stay quiet to survive.

This short is a reminder: your body doesn’t lie.
It signals. It whispers. It warns.
And when you ignore it… it screams.

If you’ve been feeling disconnected, numb, overwhelmed, or confused about what you “really feel,” this is your sign to slow down and listen. The truth you’re searching for is already living in your nervous system.

There’s an old African proverb that goes: “Only the desert knows the value of water.” It stayed with me cause it speaks directly to the soul of shadow work. We spend so much of life chasing water. Joy. Light. Clarity. Confidence. We want to swim in the ocean of fullness. We want to be nourishe...

If you wanted to go on a holiday, you wouldn’t just switch on a documentary about beaches and sunsets. You’d pack your bags, leave your comfort zone, and go . Because you want to feel it. The joy. The breeze. The aliveness of being somewhere new. So why don’t we do the same with our pain ? We

There’s a difference between recognition and remembering . Both feel familiar. But only one changes you. Recognition is: “That resonates.” “That makes sense.” “That fits into what I already believe.” It speaks from behind the shadows , It nods along . It stays safe. Contained. Conceptu...
