Children’s feet go through many changes up until the age of 18 when the bones have fully matured.

There are many childhood conditions that can impact your little ones feet such as flat foot, knock knees, bow legs, toe walking, in-toeing or out-toeing or ingrown toenails.

Footwear is so important in early stages of development, if you are unsure of what shoes would be best for your child make an appointment with one of our friendly podiatrists and we’ll be happy to guide you in the right direction.

Continued Development 📖

At Werribee foot clinic it is our responsibility to keep our knowledge current and up to date to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients.

We are often asked how long does it take to become a podiatrist? Simple answer is 4 years full time study BUT we are constantly continuing to build on our knowledge and skills and we never stop learning. In the medical field there are always trials and research being performed and the gold standard of treatments are always changing, it is up to your podiatrist to know what the best possible treatment based on evidence is for you!

Pictured above is our podiatrist Jess 8pm on a Tuesday night attending a wound seminar to keep her knowledge and skills of wound debridement and treatment current and up to date!

We are in the thick of what feels like one of the coldest winters and we are seeing more Chilblains than ever!!

Soo.. What are chilblains and how to avoid them?

Chilblains can present slightly differently on everyone but typically they are swollen, itchy painful patches on your skin caused by changes in your blood vessels in response to the cold.

Easy changes to avoid Chilblains can be to avoid going from extremely cold environments to extremely hot environments, wearing enclosed footwear during the colder months and wiggling the toes or going for a walk to increase blood flow to the feet.

Like anything if you have concerns surrounding the health of your feet speak to your podiatrist about specific recommendations.
