February 4 × 4 Challenge

Four weeks. Four classes a week. A chance to build something steady.

This February, we’re inviting you to practise more regularly — not to push harder, but to feel what consistency can offer.

Complete the challenge and you’ll go into the draw to win prizes from Estuary and local businesses, and join us for a community celebration at the end of the month.

If you’ve been wanting to start the year well, to return to rhythm, or to see what unfolds when practice becomes part of your week — this is your invitation.

Sign up in the studio, at estuaryyoga.com.au (link in bio).

As .lean.yoga and I crossed the city to the studio this morning, we were treated to the remarkable sight of the hot air balloons over Melbourne. Three of them landed right in the Arden Station field right next to Estuary!

They look so serene yet joyous, floating high above the city. Balloons offer a new perspective, a birds-eye view that reminds us to slow down, zoom out and take things in.

As we head into the new year, we’re looking forward to what’s coming at the studio — regular classes continuing, some special events and workshops on the way, and a four-week challenge launching in February (details coming soon).

Thanks for being part of our community!

Happy New Year from all of us at Estuary Yoga.

Pause.
Where are you?

“Reality met on its own terms demands absolute presence, and absolute giving away, an ability to live on equal terms with the fleeting and the eternal, the hardly touchable and the fully possible, a full bodily appearance and disappearance, a rested giving in and giving up; another identity braver, more generous and more here than the one looking hungrily for the easy, unearned answer.”

- David Whyte

It's been a deep blessing to share the Foundations of Mindfulness course with a group of 16 wholehearted humans. To remember that despite the convincing illusion of separateness, we are so deeply connected, with so many shared experiences in this journey of bring human. And how much wisdom we each have, if we put down the armour of perfecting life, and allow the clear perception of each moment space to breathe. To be felt. To dissolve into the next unfolding experience.

To come back to right here, and now -
Are you caught in a thought? A story? A version of reality which narrows rather than expands into the boundlessness that is possible?

Can you invite yourself back into back here, to the empty experience of now? Simply, and truly - this is the only place where life arises, exists, and dissolves, again and again.

A well of gratitude to everyone who has joined for this exploration - and so many bows to for your wisdom and dedicated dawn meditations.

Feel free to drop in for free online or in studio, Mon-Fri 5.20am-6am, this week and next, for some stillness and presencing in community.

Join Lucy for an evening of infusing yogic mythology and philosophy into embodied experience.

We draw inspiration from yogic dieties and asana (postures) , to remember that it is the revealing of story - mythological and our own - which co-creates the meaning and potency of our yoga practice.

Through guided discussion and playful movement, sense how the understanding of these stories might enrich your experience of yoga asana, pranayama (breathwork), mind and beyond.

Walk away with mirrors and tools you can weave into your own self-study, to tune in more deeply and resonantly with how you live and share each day.

Very thrilled to share that after some time across oceans, will be back with us soon!

Experience the playful and often profound impact of myofascial release (MFR) work, and a more spacious sense of inner being.

Begin with understanding the structure of your fascial network - what it is, what it does, how it works, and why we might want to target it with release work. We then go through the body from toe to head, introducing different techniques and tools as we travel up.

Expand your understanding of how fascia plays a role in yoga, especially in relation to yin yoga, and the importance of this essential tissue for our physical, mental, and energetic connection to Self. Bring home some nuanced ways you can bring myofascial release work into your own unique practice.

Warning: May be some owww-shiii expressions to be shared and experimented with, in the most rejuvenating and playful sense... 😁

Part of the 2024 teacher training electives.

All are welcome, no experience with yoga or MFR required. All props provided unless you'd like to bring some of your own toolkit.

A four-week course with & to help enrich your understanding of consciousness and integrate mindfulness into everyday life.

At the heart of this course in the understanding of Śūnyatā - 'emptiness, void, nothingness’: the open existence that underlies all manifestations. By learning how to lean into this space, you'll develop a larger capacity for engaging with life's changing seasons with more ease, curiosity and equanimity.

Each session focuses on a distinct method to cultivate spaciousness, including:

Week 1: Body and Breath Awareness
Week 2: Mindfulness of Emotions
Week 3: Heart-Mind Connection
Week 4: Emptiness and Equanimity

Through practical and experiential exercises, you'll discover how meditation extends far beyond 'sitting in stillness'. Our goal is to empower you with the skills to:

-Develop a consistent and sincere mindfulness practice
-Recognise emotional states in the body
-See through the illusion of thoughts
-Become intimate with the source of all things

Join Lucy (who is rooted in the teachings of Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield) and Keigo (who draws from his 3+ years living in a Zen monastery) on this enriching journey through the landscapes of heart-mind, body and the beyond.

An elective session as part of the 2024 Estuary Yoga Teacher Training.

All are welcome, no meditation or yoga experience required :)
